2.0 9A engine vacuum hose to ECU

Recommended Posts

According to the diagram here:

http://www.partscats.info/volkswagen/en/?i=cat_vag_models&brand=vw&number=1542&set=1547&ein=1993&f=76&hauptgr=1234567890&hg=1&grf=003640084&bf=%203640&hgug=133&ug=33&parent_id=378040

...I should have a vac hose to the ECU, but don't seem to have one.

Is there any reason why the previous owner would have removed it? What is the likely effect of it not being there?

Trying to get my fuel consumption up a bit, struggling to get above 24mpg at the moment so I've been replacing various vacuum hoses and sensors.

Where the diagram shows the hose joining another, I have a connection point which is capped off with a plastic cap. Bit confused.

Hi, My 9A Corrado does not have a vacuum pipe up to the ECU either? maybe its not a UK fitted part and only for some markets?

As for MPG, mine is averaging 25-26 max at the moment, but has always dropped during colder months, in the summer it normally rises to 34-36 ish average.
