slot 0 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Hi All I'm just after a bit of advice as to were to turn next ?? Basically my 1995 VR6 MFD is showing 160c on the oil temp even before I turn the key ? I've done the obvious, new sender checked for trapped wires and even removed and cleaned the multi plug and nothing ? just a continuous reading of 160c :( Any ideas ? Thanks in advance Dave Edited March 21, 2014 by slot
Roger Chatfield 0 Posted March 13, 2014 Probably got an earth on the sensor wire. Normally the sensor has a high resistance at room temp (about 4-5 Kohms), as it gets hotter the resistance drops, as yours is showing a high temp the resistance to earth must be low. You have already changed the sensor so my guess is the sensor wire is shorting to earth. Rog.
slot 0 Posted March 14, 2014 Hey Rog Thanks for the reply pal Yeah thought this also ? But after removing and leaving the multiplug disconnected, and turning on the ignition, Im still getting 160c ! It's bloody baffling me ( So if the fault is after the plug ? Does this go directly to the clocks or am I looking at a fault on the ECU ? slot 0 Posted March 21, 2014 So I found the problem, which turned out to be a melted clock loom :( Now wanted as here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=86008 Thanks Dave
