Richarddarrenb 10 Posted May 3, 2014 Finally got my vr6 on the road after laying dormant, and after a 5 mile drive home it won't engage reverse. Stick feels exactly as it should and engages all other gears as it should, stick pushes down and across into reverse position however engages first. Now with most things online there is lots of conflicting info relating to this, some say adjust at shifter end some say adjust at box end with the cables. Anyone got a definitive answer on how to fix it? Cheers all
cinadine 10 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) just had this after swapping the slave cylinder, on the shift tower one of the arms should have a 13mm nut that you can release to adjust the lift try adjusting it slightly back towards the bulkhead. Richarddarrenb 10 Posted May 5, 2014 Fixed! Moved the loom out the way to fit my battery tray and it looks like the loom had slipped under the cable at the front stopping it from moving far enough to engage reverse. So all good.
