VR6 Sachs rear spring help?

Recommended Posts

I'd rather have OE than replacements, I can't ever remember a post here saying they had a broken spring? Newer VAG stuff breaks springs like no tomorrow, I suspect certain processes have been replaced with modern more environmentally friendly ones making them work harden and snap.

KYB list them for Corrado front and rear, loads on ebay

I thought sachs was the same stuff you get from the dealer. Or is that what you mean?

Going to put everything back to standard and then see if this weird steering is suspension too firm or something else.

Think dealers wanted something like £68 a spring

Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I meant to say I'd rather lightly used early 90s OE springs than new OE or non genuine ones, pre 1998 you hardly ever heard of broken springs on VAG cars, now its common place.

What's the issue with the steering?

Just seems really vague and seems to wander over the road alot. Steering sometimes heavy sometimes light. Really bad on changing cambers especially when over taking someone. Just bad really. Maybe to stiff still.
