16v b3 passat 9a 2.0L idle issue..

Recommended Posts

This is really doing my head in, been trying to sort this car for 6 months now. Can't figure it out for the life of me, finally got it to idle lower and smooth. But now for some reason when it warms up the engine won't drop to idle smoothly, it sort of lowers then pauses then lowers then pauses until it reaches normal idle. When cold it seems to be fine.. is this the TPS playing up or ISV? I have recently replaced the TPS with one from a donor car but this could be faulty as well I guess.. No vacuum leaks, have replaced hoses etc gaskets. Have also replaced the coolant temp sensor as well.. fixed a fair amount of broken wires to switches etc cleaned up grounds.

Any help would be much appreciated, really need this car running smooth so I can get her registered and on the road again.

This is it from cold.. idle drops down to normal nicely.

And this is it warm...

hear how it lowers down in stages...

Thanks team
