Split coolant hose

Yesterday the coolant hose to the matrix split on my Vr

Nothing obvious when its ticking over but when revved the split opens up and water shoots out. Would you expect the leak to get worse with an increase in revs ? I understand that the water flow rate would increase as the water pump rise with the engine speed but would this also cause an increase in pressure....or does it suggest head gasket failure/

It just suggests old hose, Nothing suspicious there :)

Ordered a Meyle one from KMS for £24. Will fit it on Tuesday

Easy fix :) Give the system a flush and a top up with G13 whilst you're there and you should be good for a couple of years bar any more split pipes!

Best change the whole lot while you're in there then, it would be very frustrating to change bits and bobs and have something else go pop a week later! Unfortunately, that's an expensive little job!

This happened after fixing the ARB drop link on Saturday- I was ready to leave it in the woods with a lit candle on the backseat!

Expensive yes but in the long run could save you money if anything else decided to give up soon
