Jamie 1 Posted August 12, 2014 Apart from the obvious holes left by the missing switches, are the door handles, mountings etc the same or will I need early grab handles, lock handles etc or can I use my existing grab handles and that?
g0ldf1ng3r 15 Posted August 13, 2014 IIRC it is just the window switches that are in a different place. Im pretty sure my early valver has the inner door handle & grab handle in the same place & would think as such they bolt up the same as late door cards I can check my valver & confirm when i get home if you like? Tigerfish 10 Posted August 13, 2014 My late car came with early leather cards, as mentioned, switches were different. Whoever did mine put late pods on to keep the original switches (and left the early switches in situ to fill the holes). The only other difference was the early cards didn't have holes for the lock pin in the top edge, so they made holes. Oh, and it also meant the mirror switch wasn't connected. I ditched the front leather cards and just put late cloth cards in (until I manage to find some late grey leather cards)
Jamie 1 Posted August 13, 2014 Cheers Goldfinger. Tigerfish when you say the mirror switch wasn't connected, was it just not connected or couldn't actually be connected?
Tigerfish 10 Posted August 13, 2014 Not sure why tbh. I assume because the connectors are different. I can take a look at the weekend to confirm, I have an old style mirror switch still, so I can compare them.
Jamie 1 Posted August 13, 2014 Oh ok. So were you using early handles and that? Ideally what I'd like to do is use all my existing handles, door pulls and switches and just make up some factory looking blanking plates for the holes...
Mike Edwards 0 Posted August 13, 2014 The handles bolt on to the doors the same, but the shape of the handles and the location of the switches is different. Don't remember if the plugs fit, never mind reach...
