Vr6 engine quiver??

My vr6 is lumpy some times and quivers?? Any thoughts on this??

Is it when the engine is cold or warm , could be a whole host of things but usually they are pretty easy to figure what is wrong

I think the main culprits are things like coil packs or leads stuff like that if damaged can make things run a little crappy

Could possibly be the crank sensor depending on what VR it is as I had similar problem on my previous golf vr6

Thanks guys I'm trying new lead and plugs tomorrow, also going to hav the stem seals and head gasket changed as it blowing white smoke some times,I'll go through the things that will benefit running ;)

Get a compression check done, and get the coolant checked for presence of exhaust gasses, before spending money on a head gasket - it may not need it!

We checked the coolant for exhaust gasses there was none, already bought a valve stem seal kit and head gasket plugs n leads I'll get them all changed up.

That's just how they are. R32s are the same. It was never the smoothest of 6 cyl engines.

VR6s are very picky with MAF sensors, so you could try a new one of those. I found running it a lot richer than usual made it smoother at idle, but you can't do that without turning off the lambda and remapping it.

 

It's just a very hot running grumpy engine and some of the fuel evaporates as it travels down the long runners to the rear bank.
