Mk4 coolant one way check valve

Well with the remains of the pipe work I got left over from the 24v swap I found a hose with a one way check valve

Where would it go on the mk4 4mo also Is there any benifit from using it?

Am still curious to know the benefits of this as well. Ran without one for years. Put one in and no difference really.
