Obd1 / obd2 any restrictions?

Hello everyone

This is my first post and would welcome everyone's knowledge as I will be picking brains throughout my project. I am looking to turbo my vr6 I can see from the forums this is a popular thing to do, my question is that I own a obd1 with coil pack, do I have restrictions on which turbo,injectors,software etc I can choose being obd1 and not obd2.
