vcl 10 Posted March 2, 2015 Hi. Some time ago I bought an ABS Pump for my 8v Corrado. I have just got round to cleaning it and find that the part number on the label is - 1 H2 614 117 B, whereas the number of the pump on the car is 1 H2 614 117 A. Can anyone tell me if there are differences between the two, or is it going to be a straight swap. vcl
britpop95 0 Posted March 5, 2015 I had an 8v a couple of years back and im sure there was 2 versions of the 8v fitted throughout the 8v production there was the 2E engine (early design) and the ADY (later design) and they may have had updated parts. Search ADY and 2E on images find out wich 8v you have
madmatt 10 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) the letters at the end of the number are a revision code.so i should think its ok Edited March 5, 2015 by madmatt
vcl 10 Posted March 8, 2015 Thanks for the clues. The 'A' code appears to be restricted to the ADY engine which I think was fitted to all the 8V Corrados and some of the 2ltr Mk3 Golfs. The 'A' and 'B' pumps are, at least in appearance, quite different, eg wiring and terminals. Maybe the 'B' could be modified, but it is certainly beyond my skills, or my pocket to have the job done professionally. I wonder if the G60 uses the same pump as the ordinary 8V - hm! britpop95 0 Posted March 8, 2015 Im not clued up on the g60 at all mate but going off logic seeing as the g60 was the first engine along with the 1.8kr i would think the g60 is a 2E engine? im sure lilfuzzer is breaking a corrado 8v at the moment so from what you said about the ADY you could get the correct abs pump from him if yours isn't going to fit. Best of luck getting it sorted mate
