Recommended Posts

Just seeing whats out there - but potentially like to fit one before weather gets too hot!

Is it really that easy to swop in?

I have already the head lining out :thumb right:

Can also try to pickup at coming CCGB meets too :D

Ha ha, knew you'd want one. Get one and I'll give you a hand fitting it if you don't feel confident. It really is a doddle to do.

Need to check the numbers on it, but may have an early Octavia Hatchback one in the next couple of weeks - Distance could be a problem though?

Cheers Ian!

I have heard various VAG ones will fit.

But Passat B4 was the best "straight forward" fit

AND sits / looks better from outside too :thumb right:

Whats it like the Octavia roof (fit/looks)?

Distance NOT a problem!!!

U going to AGM, Stanford or RIAT?

Cheers

Wayne

I have the B4 Estate one in mine, I was planning to just swop over the glass panels initially to check the fitment prior to offering it for sale.

Wouldn't really want to put it in the car to take to the AGM if at all possible, but will be going to RIAT and only live about 30mins away so you could perhaps collect it prior to going home?

Hi Ian

This moonroof (glass) includes everything?

Motor?

Slide assembley?

Exterior trim?

So a case of removing my old sunroof/slide-assembly and fit it?

Cool!

We can do that (pickup from your home) :thumb right:

Er, what time u thinking leaving?

I was thinking leaving maybe an hour into the AGM ...

Any chance of pics + whether its a straight-forward fit in my car before AGM?

Cheers

Wayne

I'm 30 mins from RIAT, not the AGM (I live in Gloucester).

If your existing motor is OK it is just a case of unbolting the roof cassette assy (8 bolts from memory)and connecting in the glass one.

Pics before the AGM will be a problem, I doubt I can get my car to the garage where the Octavia is located until later this month or early May as all my spare time at weekends is taken up helping my daughter and her husband decorate their new home - Sorry!

Ian.

Thanks bud!

Is it a direct swop?

No phaffing around of trying to get it to fit?

What years are the mk1?

It was straight in, although I'm going to fit a new seal and so it's coming out again soon. Toledo was early nineties to 98-99
