What glue to use

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Have just been lucky enough to buy a leather interior for the rado. My question is what glue is best to use to re attach the leather where it has come away on the door cards.

good question - I need to do similar to the door cards in the valver

I was going to use some hi temp contact adhesive or similar if I can find any - hi temp due to the top of the door card being in the sun

Cheers jim. I knew I had seen your pics with the pegs but just couldn't remember where. Did you have any issues with using normal super glue?

I use this and it's excellent.

The only thing to be wary of with superglue it does eventually go brittle and will start breaking up

I think I'll give this a go. Wasn't over keen on using super glue due to the possibility of it bleeding through and ending up with white blobs everywhere. How far does it go as there isn't a huge amount to do?

It does go quite far. I reckon the smallest tin would be more than enough.

Knowing my luck I'll end up getting the pegs stuck lol.

make sure you don't use plastic pegs - old skool wood only ;)

I had great success with TrimFix High Temp spray adhesive. Just mask up everywhere and take your time.

I used pegs, too...

This sends shivers down my spine as used the same method very good but time consuming

I didn't have to use any form of clamp - once that AS glue grabs it's stuck. The downside obviously is you need to get it right first time

Evo serious glue, but just needed to do some edges.
