Dva99999 10 Posted September 8, 2015 Hi all, I test drove a Corrado VR6 today and it felt low on power. I checked all the hoses before and after the drive. The engine seemed to rev freely, but it didn't seem to transfer that power to the wheels. It was only after it had warmed up a bit that it seemed to respond but it still felt like it was holding back. I used to have a GTV V6, and currently drive a 2.0 Forester XT and that seemed much quicker. Does this sound right or is something amiss?
robrado974 1 Posted September 8, 2015 Without a forum member driving it themselves it's hard to say . I think they are all different , what I mean is someone else's car would feel different to mine . I was in a standard car a while back , a friend was driving and I have to say it felt slower than mine . Another mate was sat in mine while we were testing some electrical bits , when he put his foot on the pedal he said it revved quicker and more freely than a friends car . But mine is not standard . You should really feel the power at around 4k .
SR_Neale 10 Posted September 8, 2015 All you can do is test drive as many as possible so you have something to compare it too.
Dva99999 10 Posted September 8, 2015 Thanks. I have driven 4 others, the first one was downright awful, the second extremely quick and standard, but I wonder if that was because it was immediately after testing the first one. The other two felt quick but both had very poor steering. This one did feel quick after 4000rpm, but I always thought the power kicked in earlier, like the second one I tried. I'll keep looking. SR_Neale 10 Posted September 8, 2015 If there is ever any doubt walk away. I have learnt this the hard way.
