MOT-ing lowered Corrados (HARROW, MIDDX)

Recommended Posts

I just took my Corrado to get its MOT for the first time. The car has been lowered 40mm with a 60mm front spoiler. The tester refused to test it, as it was too low, and indicated that other test centres would do the same.

how do you guys get your cars through the test (I've seen much lower than mine!) without the hassle of changing springs etc. Do some test centres have less deep rolling roads.

Finally, taking the front spoiler off will involve removing the whole bumper due to the previous owner assempbling it incorrectly, so Id rather avoid this.

Cheers

All test centres should have a static brake tester that just sits on the floor of the passenger footwell and measures the braking effects that is for vehicles that for whatever reason wont go on the rollers, but to be honest im thinking the guys just been an arse, go to a different test centre, if you have a ministry testing centre around you they are the best to go to as there not bothered about getting any after sales from you and they are completely fair although a little strict............this was the case 6 or 7 years ago when i was testing anyway :)

Sounds like the guy was just being a knob to me....take your business elsewhere to somewhere better equipped, don't think many places would be at all fussed about it being lowered.

I don't speak from personal experience though, as mine is standard set up.
