How difficult is it to .??

Recommended Posts

I'm going to fit new rear beam bushes . Dropping the beam out but how hard is it to pull the new bushes through the hole ?

Cheers Neil

hi Neil

I believe to remove & refit the bushes you will need a press & can not be done by hand, or is extremely difficult

from personal experience I would recommend preparing to replace the brake bias valve as they can be very troublesome to disconnect so as to allow the rear beam to drop ok

also, avoid poly bushes etc for the rear beam & use the standard OE bushes as they are designed to flex somewhat

I borrowed a sealey bush tool from someone on here, made the job quite easy really. He had modified it a little, but its basically a thread bar with some bits on it you wind up.

I think you have to pretension it as well when you put it back on, something I'll need to check when I do mine in the not too distant future.

BTW, your username "blackrs2000custom"... MK2 escort? if so, pics please!
