vr6 spark plug removal - no access

Recommended Posts

Went to change plugs on late VR6 '95 Storm last week and the spark plug socket I've always used on previous VR6's would not fit down the hole to plugs on the centre and bottom right looking at the engine (cylinder 4 and 6 IIRC) seemingly the socket catching on edge of injectors (which slightly protrude across access hole)

So I ordered a Vr6 spark plag removal tool - but I'm still having the same problem.

Odd that i did not have this on previous Vr6's - anyone else had this, were there different injectors on late cars?

Regards

Not sure injector now, either way it's stopping doing what I need to do the only time I've got available to do it

The black circular bit is my problem....

Not to worry all sorted now

begrudgingly took to the new tool with an angle grinder to shave off some of its width

I can only assume the spark pluck socket tool I thought I had always used on previous Vr6 wasn't the same socket after all
