gearbox additives....good or bad??

i know engine oil additives are regarded as rubbish...id like to know if any of the gear oil additives are any good?

 

ive re filled with redline syn oil , but if i can improove the shift or make the gearbox last longer then id like to try some

 

anyone reccomend anything?? the box seems okay,maybe a slight whine if im picky

I bunged some cheapy (£5) additive when changed the gearbox oil last month, noticed no difference really, besides it's harder to get into second gear when cold - but then again my gearbox/ synchronisers are knackered :(

 

Mate of mine put the slick50 treatment in and swears by it, apparently very good but pricier.

Aye slick 50 is an absolute winner, my box was ace with it till it popped a hole in it :oops:

I'll jump on the "Yay for Redline and Slick 50" bandwagon. Had a really notchy gear change when I first bought the car, quickly resolved with a oil change. A lot smoother now. :)
