modeliuks 10 Posted December 10, 2016 I recently took apart my G60 supercharger from 91 Corrado and it is full of oil and a bit of oil residue. What is the best option to clean the inside of it? Can I use regular engine cleaner or brake cleaner? I don't want to damage the supercharger, because it is really expensive.
Gti_Jamo 10 Posted December 11, 2016 I've used brake cleaner to clean oil out a charger before. But you'll need to kluber grease the apex strips before reassembly. You also need to consider where the oil is coming from. G-Laders are notoriously harsh on oil seals but oil can also get in via the boost return, even more so with a tired engine. modeliuks 10 Posted December 11, 2016 I'm rebuilding the whole engine anyway and I want to check if the charger is in decent shape and worth rebuilding
