Bfstrachan 10 Posted December 30, 2016 My 1990 1.8 16v starter motor. I ordered a new one and it has 10 teeth. I was checking and some listings have the motor listed with 9 teeth? Just checking before putting it in. The electrical connection is different on the new one which made me stop and question. I have just put in a 9a bottom end and just about all back together. VEEDUBBED 0 Posted December 30, 2016 Have you tried to physically engage the motor into the bell housing? If you would have asked me I'd have given you a spare starter you donkey.. I've got at least 3..

I've got at least 3.. Eeeh ohh - ok :) Well, I did offer it in and it fitted fine. The guy who took my old block away was kind enough to pull the starter and he said the original one has 10 teeth, so I'm assuming it's good to go? Guessing a 9 tooth motor just wouldn't engage the flywheel? Thanks my friend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

VEEDUBBED 0 Posted December 30, 2016 You don't wanna know mate.. Today I went back to the hospital to get the first cast removed and get The ankle x-rayed again. Thanks to the first dikhead doctor, who 'forgot' to Prescribe the necessary anti thrombosis injections I risked getting a blood Clot..and getting huge complications.. Possible death. Get this, when i first arrived in hospital, after waiting 6 hours I then had to walk to the cast dressing table 'cos there's no wheelchair available..i kid you not. I've got a broken ankle and I have to walk on my good leg, with no crutches (none available, my sister had to go outside the hospital and buy them) All in all, a pretty shiyte adventure.. That's pretty unnerving, going in with an ankle break, you would think would be straight forward enough. Bit of a wake up call there my friend!
