Gti_Jamo 10 Posted May 9, 2017 Alright guys, A quick question as i'm not getting much luck searching. The Bentley manual I have has the conrod cap torque setting at 22 lbs plus 1/2 turn (180 degrees) This seems a lot, even for stretch bolts. Much of my searching mentions 22 lbs plus 1/4 turn which of course is a huge difference. Anyone shed any light on the subject to clarify? Cheers. Simeon 0 Posted May 10, 2017 I'd go with the Bentley manual. I rebuilt a G60 bottom end a couple of years ago and that went back together per the Bentley manual and seemed to run ok for the couple of years I had it.
Gti_Jamo 10 Posted May 11, 2017 Yes I think that's what i'll do. All of the official technical data I have looked at state an 180 degrees turn so it must be correct. I done my rallye engine a few years ago and would have torqued them to that spec also as I would have used the same Bentley manual and all was well.
