Album56 0 Posted August 15, 2017 My G60 has done 190K miles & is 25 years old, the transmission oil has never been changed as far as I am aware. Would it be a good idea to get the old oil drained & replaced with new. The car is running very well for its age & is a pleasure to drive but occasionally getting into 1st gear is a bit of a struggle.
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted August 16, 2017 Obviously yes mate, I'd put in 2 litres of cheap oil and flush the 'box first, then use the good stuff like Bardahl fully synthetic or Vw's syntra gearbox oil. Whilst your in there and seeing as the 'box oil has never been changed, it' be VERY WISE to carry out a complete service, including the cogged g60 supercharger's timing belt and engine timing belt too.
