LukeManic 0 Posted September 3, 2017 Hello all, I'm only posting about this topic (I know there are others on it and have read them all) as I'm now out of ideas. I've managed to snap my bonnet cable 3 times now, two of those times were during an attempted repair - I give up on it. Can some please tell me how tight the cable should be against the trumpet with the bolt (see attachments). The drivers side trumpet and latch work fine and can see it moving, but the passenger side barely moves. I've tried to tighten it, but can just feel it in the handle that it will snap again. Does the cable and trumpet look as if they are setup correctly? Any guidance is much appreciated! Thanks, Luke.
Aqvila 0 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Looks okay the trumpet should butt up to the latch snugly (slight pressure/ no slack) Where is it snapping? My advice would be to lube everything! Bonnet pins, latches, springs, inside of sleeves and don't over tighten the trumpet nut, check it isnt cutting into wire.
