aposegil 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Ok guys Ok I gave my brothers engine a good clean out using Protec 2000 and removing the old oil, putting some normal oil in it, run it for another 10 mins and then removing that to be able to put in Castrol magnitex fresh oil. Car been running fine but all off a sudden the engine sounds tappety when warming up :( but its not on idle (which i first thought it was) its when ur under load / pulling away and only happens whilst the engine warms up what can it be??? as i want to get it sorted a.s.a.p thanx in advance Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

aposegil 0 Posted July 22, 2004 The car is my bro's G40 milage about 120K oil normal Castrol Maginitex 10-40 If u leave it on idle no prob its only when u start to rev up u get a tappy noise but there is no smoke coing out or lose of oil so its really puzzling me Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

aposegil 0 Posted July 22, 2004 engine flush is not recomended on any g-lader'd engines tbh.. its a bit late for that anyway yes u are correct in that engine flushes shouldnt be used but the guy that built my engine used this particular brand on all his engines and that its a very well reviewed flush i dont mind using it But sadly that doesnt answer my original question even thou talking to a few people it looks like ive untrapped dirty in the tappets which should have beenb changed a while ago from the sounds of it so going to give that a go this weekend :D Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
