Help with heated seat relay buzzing

Recommended Posts

Whilst most of my interior is out i thought it might be worth asking if anyone can point me in a direction to fix my drivers heated seat relay buzzing?

it doesnt do it all of the time but more often than not & always when i want a warm bum

sometimes i can turn the dash switch up & there is no noise immediately but then the relay starts buzzing like mad, other times it buzzes as soon as you turn the dash switch on

the passenger side doesnt do it

i think i tried swapping the 2 relays over but cant remember exactly the outcome

thanks in advance

I'm thinking element problem. If you switch the seat ON, but dont sit on it does it still do it?

Just something to try.... or check the continuity readings of both elements of both seats for comparison.

i did wonder about the element as the seat has never really got very warm when the relay behaves

i will give the not sitting on it a try

how would i check the continuity of the elements in the seats m8?

Underneath the seat is the plug for this. Just needs discommecting and testing at the seat wires. You can see which wires go to the upper or lower pad.

When I get home tonight I will give you the colours as I wrote mine down

The wiring diagram is better

Brown/black + black seem to be the lower seat part

Brown/black + brown = BACKREST

Cant find my drawings, but worth tipping the seat back to get at the connections
