Agreed Price Insurance Policys

Recommended Posts

Does anyone on here have an agreed price policy with an insurance company if so who?

My car's up for renewal and the amount of money/work thats gone into my car this year, i would be pi**ed if it got written off and i got somethin like 3k back.

I want an agreed price policy and will be telling them about mods.

got agreed value in negotiation with Adrian Flux at the moment... I've only just taken out the policy so I've got to send them lots of photos, details and receipts to prove the value and the work done... I wish I could see the look on their faces when the BOX lands on their desk with the receipts and stuff in it! 8)

Cost another £20ish on top of the normal cost... 8)

Thats interesting, been with adrian flux a few years now and they still tell me its not the type of car they will do an agreed price policy on. :(

They still the cheapest though/ and wont charge any extra for ya first three points - which i just got.

it could because mine's so modified they'll do it.... Some companies wouldn't touch it 'cos "it's got more than 5 engine modifications done to it"... :? Yeah, it's got more than that this week!

And do they agree on a value on what the car would be worth if you were to sell it?, or do they agree on a value it would take to build another the same, (obviously that would be a hell of alot more!)

it's a rebuild/replacement cost agreement.... the resale value is irrelevant 'cos there's no way you'd get back what you put into a modified car... :|

You can get an engineers or specialists report done on the car which they will take into account... I'm gonna try and get John Mitchell to do one on my car (he doesn't know yet, but he's offered in the past! ) while I'm down that end of the country on holiday 'cos he's an MOT tester, a specialist and has supplied quite a lot of the parts on my car so can give a good report on it.. Plus it'd be nice to be able to show him what all the work has achieved as I don't think he's actually seen it properly yet... 8)

i did it with HIC, sent in pictures - interior, engine, each side, boot etc and a list of recent works/mods done - think it only cost 15-20 quid.

as long as you dont take the piss and value your car at a silly amount then they tend to issue the cert with no problems, if you start trying to value ur G60 at 6k then I suspect they may not cover?

Ive had it agreed valued @ 4k last renewal and in the process of spending 3k in one hit on the car...........I will notify HIC of mods and try and get it bumped up to 5k.........think it would take the piss believing the car will be worth any more.

imo

Chris Knott here. If you've really invested in your car, you shouldn't be without an agreed value policy, especially if you have a look at the official 'book price' of the Corrado now :|
