Who the hell calculates the mark up on these parts. I need a knock sensor and a ABS sensor and VW quoted me £150 and £75 respectively!! Now I know we run expensive cars and to some extent I accept this but aren't they taking the p**s just a bit. Surely they are going to reach a stage where by they will loose out because people will go elsewhere?? Anyone got a knock sensor they dont need?????

I got pulled doing 110 recently after I upgraded from a G60 to VR6. Ive got my court case on wednesday. Its just so easy to get up to those license threatening speeds before you know it. Im just hoping that as its a first offence with no other charges, in addition to pleading guilty will minimise my pain. I'll be back on wednesday with the results. Can every one cross their fingers at aound 10 AM on Wednesday.

I did in the end but I had to write a letter of complaint to get a fair price. Let that be a lesson to all of you. If you write your car off and the insurance company offer you a grand for your £3000.00 car you can dispute the offer. Send some examples of your car or more than they are offering, (press cuttings, Autotrader pages stuff like that). Make sure you complain about the offer as well, if you threaten to go to the ombudsman they will probably offer you more money because if the ombudsman sides with you you get your money and it costs the Insurance company £700.00 to defend. If it is to get a quote it doesn't really matter. The higher value you give them for you car the higher theft risk they will assume it is and therefore load the premium. Should you write the car of they will not give you the amount you insured it for. They will take the parkers or glasses guide valuation for the make model and year and make adjustments for mileage. If you have already written it off they will probably not take in to consideration a higher spec engine (other than with a view to adjustments for mileage) when calculating your offer as they will say that it does not necessarily make it worth more. Insurance companys are scum.

Insurance companies have a list of approved repairers that they use because they can get parts and labour discounts. You do not have to use their approved repairer but if you don't they will not be able to provide you with a courtesy car and they will not be able to get involved in any disputes you may have with the way repairs were done. Also repairs are usually guaranteed through the approved repairer. I was insured with Elephant cos their premiums are low. I had an accident and my G60 was written off. I wasn't hugely impressed with their claims service. They told me things which were a load of shite not knowing that I worked in motor claims myself.

Ive unclipped the horn button and disconnected and removed the contact plate but there is a plastic cover the same size as the contact plate underneath, there are no bolts or screws, can I just pull this off or am I gonna bust it. This may sound a stupid question but how can I guarantee that a new wheel will have the same fitting?

Can anyone advise a good places in East Anglia (or thereabouts) to take my G60 for a respray. Any ideas about costs, can i get them to go down to the metal and check for rust and pull out dents.

I filled my tank up till it was brimming yesterday and the fuel gauge only goes up to 10 of 12 gallons, even when left stationary for a few mins, when im driving it seems to hang around the 7 mark. how can I rectify this?

What is the middle muffler usually suspended by on the G60? Today I became aware of an exhaust blowy kind of noise and had a look to find this muffler in rather a speed bump unfriendly position shall we say. I have bought and fitted a rubber exhaust ring but was unsure as to whether this is what I have replaced as the relevant part was long gone. Also how important is the distance between the muffler and the heat sheild?

I did this exact same thing. Get on yer back and look up under the car and you'll see the light coming in through your new found hole. As mentioned earlier get a thin piece of wire make a hook and fish it out. 2 mins and its all in the past.

Its good to see someone who's prepared to do that much research for the sake of givin us all a good laugh. well done. The nature of the corrado is one of 'less is more' in my book. Our friendly neiborhood germans have done the hard work, all that is really required is to tweak and personalise. I mean really aren't there enough Orions and Novas out there for these people to f**k up. Leave the Corrado alone there aint that many after all! :mad:

ok mate. Incidentally im about to buy front and rear black badges. the rear one is listed as corrado, but the front ones are all listed by golf models. mk 2,3, or 4. Does it matter?

Are these the same as the golf one's? Mk 3/4?

A friend of mine has advised me I should fit this to gain a bit extra poke, but Im unsure how sound his advice may be, as I understand that the wrong air filter can be hazardous to the supercharger. ADVICE IN LAMENS TERMS PLEASE!
