Looks like fate has decided that my brakes will be my next mod. what size are the standard VR brakes? I am told blackdiamond brakes are pretty good but they only go up to 280mm. Does anyone have these? How much more worthwhile is it going to 310mm, will grooved and drilled be better than going up in size? Any other comments on other brands? Discuss.

I know but I tend to believe its the better way round to do it cos then you are free to focus all your attention on power increases knowing that you shouldn't have to worry about handling/control issues. I just slammed my c on koni coilovers. I couldn't tell you drop but it was pretty high even for standard, its now 57cm F and 58cm R and its a lot more fun than a few extra horses. Damit ive just let slip my true nature, and i nearly got away with the responsible driver thing too. Oh well.

It would be more sensible to uprate the brakes and shocks/bushes before worrying about more power. (assuming you havent already done this) "Power is nothing without control" wasn't it volvo who said that??

I've got my koni coilover kit sat at home ready to go on on monday. Finally I can get rid of the old knackered shocks and do something about the 3 feet between my tyres and arches! To say im looking forward to the drive home is an something of an understatement. :D :D :D Just wondering if anyone knows, I have a small aerolsol can with lots of german writing on it in with the kit, what is this for, its it some kind of lubricant/corrosion protection. :?

What's the best way to go about getting/fitting aftermarket pedals. I want to update mine but obviously drilling in to the originals is required as its hard to see where is safe to drill, if that makes any sense. Any one got pics of theirs?

Sorry if I sound like an ass but esentially this in wrong. If your insurance co. recover their money they will reinstate you NCD, if they dont they wont. If you report the claim as info only and ask them to close the file there should be no effect. The thing to bear in mind is that all insurers do things slightly differently but if they dont pay out or recover their losses in full they should leave alone or reinstate you NCD respectively and if they dont you would have a valid ombudsman claim.

The Koni kits are the same for both VR and G60 as the damping is adjustable.

Im getting my Koni coilover kit at the end of the month and have been advised to replace the top mounts, are these upgradable and if so is there any point?

Is this as easy to do repalce these as it looks? Presumably I would have to support the tank whislt changing them. Any advise?
