  1. In the next few weeks i am going to be getting coilovers for my vr6 and also need to get rear discs and bearings so thought while i was at it i would change as much as possible to save problems further down the line and because the steering is a bit wobbly/clunky. so i have decided to change my front bearings as well, and also my balljoints, track rod ends and top mounts. Hopefully that should transform the handling of the car to what it hink it should be. But i am getting confused with which parts i need and which supplier to use. I have been browsing oemparts.co.uk and just wanted advice because at the minute i am just looking at pictures thinking I'll get that one because it looks like i get more for my money, and the difference in price is just as confusing ball joints - FEBI, LEMFARDER, TRW ? i have made a note of FEBI part no. 14428 because it comes with a new securing plate front bearings - FAG or SKF ? i think most people on here prefer SKF ? track rod ends - LEMFARDER, DELPHI, FEBI, TRW ?? I have absolutely no idea and the price range is confusing, i dont want cheap tat on my car but are the expensive ones worth the extra ? I've made a note of part numbers 10249 02 & 10250 02. top mounts - what the hell. there are loads to pick from and i have no clue. FEBI part no 14116 seems ok and seems to include the bearing which i think is the most important part ? if anyone can advise of anything else i can fit while I'm in there then great, but mainly advice on the suppliers because at the minute i am scratching my head and have an online basket full of stuff i probably shouldnt be buying thanks for your help Sam
  2. if i do have a go at pressing the bearings in myself how do i know if ive pressed them in far enough ? is it obvious ? or do i keep hammering until there is no more movement ? does anyone in the midlands know of a corrado friendly garage that i can take my car to if needs be ? thanks Sam
  3. Pah !! didn't think they would work cheers pal
  4. ok thanks for the info. i have just ordered a rewind tool, so that should be here soon and i have contacted oem parts because they have rear disks with integrated bearings that are already pressed in that i think i will order to save the headache, as anyone that knows me will tell you i have a tendancy to ham fist everything i see so would probably end up causing damage to the bearings/disks/myself. i may aswell change the pads while im in there too. and then some bushes and then suspension the list goes on and on and on . ......... i hope my girlfriend doesn't see this
  5. hi all, recently purchased a new vr6 but i think the car needs new rear wheel bearings, i was going to have a go at doing it myself and change a few bits like rear disks, is there a guide for this anywhere. i've been told that i will need a puller to get the bearing off and some kind of press to get the new one on ? is that true ? if it is then i dont have either so cant do it, does anyone know a corrado friendly garage in the midlands (near coventry) that would do it ? thanks sam

  11. Hello there, i've wanted a corrado for years and managed to get enough pennies together to start looking, and after a few weeks of toying with the idea of a mk1 golf or a caddy i decided it was a corrado i wanted. with a vr6. in aqua blue. so i waited and waited and when one nearby popped up i looked at it, had a few issues that i asked the guy to sort, which he did so i bought it a few days later !! i love it !! just need to get it lowered and possibly some new wheels and i will be happy. quick question - my vr6 is a '94. there is a guy at work with a brand new set of coilovers for a '91 passat estate. he will sell them to me super cheap but i'm not sure if they will fit ? does anyone know if they are the same fitment ? i'll try and get some pics up of the little beaut !! ta Sam
