  1. Hey thanks for answers everyone, think i will buy my mates ones and get them recovered in black, as they are going so cheap to me. If this doesnt happen Skinnyman, i would be interested in yours, are they black and do they include the speaker grills?
  2. Cheers Dragon Green, still got to figure out if they will fit later door panels, anyone know?
  3. Hey Skinnyman, where you got them for sale? Also are they for late or early doors, and what colour? Cheers Dan
  4. Any idea how much i should pay for some in grey from an early car, i.e. With window switches on the door panel, also can i convert them to fit later door cards? Been offerd some from a mate Cheers
  5. Just tried cleaning the connectors under dash with aircraft grade connector cleaner, three pin from transponder going into little black box and other connector coming out??? And still no joy, also did the ecu plug, defo going to Stealth, fed up of no Corrado for last few days
  6. Yer starts then dies, Vince at stealth is removing the immobiliser completely off the ecu, as i have a better after market one, and cant be hassled with it happening again, means i can have more keys cut with out great expensive
  7. Checked immobiliser ring on ign barrel still place, talked vince at stealth, taking ecu up to him to sort it, proper job!
  8. Thanks, but its the factory type thats a chip in the key and a sensor in the steering cowling, anyone know if it can be removed?
  9. Nothing in my glove box but a light, thanks for the thought though
  10. Took the wife to work this morning car was fine, went to start it 10 mins later and wont start, i know its the factory imobiliser thats gone out of sync somehow, as had the exact same symptoms on my golf Vr both N plate. Luckily was a a friends garage way up north who re-sycned the golf. Now i am stuck at home just outside watford and cant get it too anyone, anyone out there neqr me that can do this job? Have tried taking battery off too Cheers Dan
  11. Been reading through the definitive cooling guide, as i have been running too cool lately, fixed by a proper stat rather than the low temp one, anyway this is my third VR and just happened to notice the aux water pump isnt running on ign on. Also have not had the fan running on after switching off, even when fan is running and switch off it cuts the fan off, is that correct? Did the check in the cooling guide with the yellow temp connector (i.e. bridged wires) and got fan to come on but not the water pump, it mentions a diode in the controller also possibly at fault, is this easy to change? Will have everything apart tomorrow morn to check voltage supply to pump, and if it is the pump is it a VW only part? Hope not at £120+ Any one know if the Ford part off the Galaxy is the same and maybe cheaper?? Cheers Dan
  12. Good to hear all acounts, just dont want to regret putting all three in
  13. Was worried about get too much vibration through the cabin, will be using the standard VT ones not the competition type
  14. Hello all, As the title says, i have just fitted the Vibratechnics front mount, and sure enough realised the gearbox and rear mounts are on their way out, was just going to go for std mounts but was thinking about using the Vibratechnics ones for these two also, anyone done this? And is it any good? Dont want to turn my car into a teeth rattler! Cheers Dan
  15. Right all swapped back, except the fan switch as the temp stamped on the side was same a my new std switch???? But stat works much better now, test drive showed temp would not drop below 82 ish on long road at a steady 70mph at 4 degrees outside temp, and 90ish at standing tickover
  16. Cheers for all the answers, my grill is fully open, as it was a replacement by VW at some point inclusive of a terrible spray job (now re-painted properly), I will stick the old thermostat back and the proper fan switch
  17. Whats the best way to change the stat? its a pain to get to, do you have to take the whole housing off the side of the block or can you leave that on and just remove the stat cover?
  18. Cheers for that, bit peeved that Awesome sell these as an upgrade then, waste of money and time that was then! Should i also change the fan switch back over as well do you reckon from the Neuspeed one?
  19. Hello all, Just been driving long distance for the first time since doing a water change, i also changed the thermostat and fan switch, i used the ones that Awesome supply i.e. Low temp thermo and neuspeed lower temp fan switch, as in the past with other vr6's i had problems with them running a bit hot. Running round town sits at 80-90 and fan kicks in first stage at that sort of temp, on the long run today on the motorway it was below 70! Then running around town back to 80-90, have a over done it on the cooling??? Also have fitted new rad at same time as water change Cheers Dan
  20. update - have figured out that the clutch pedal noise is coming from the master cylinder, but only once the car is up to temperature, have also noticed there is no heat shield around the master cylinder in the engine bay, has anyone else got this problem? Was thinking of making a heatshield up cheers
  21. just been digging around under the dash and yes the shelf is rubbing slightly, then realised it was so cold outside that i didnt want to be there anymore, so will look when the Earth warms up a bit more :)
  22. Havent driven the Vr for six months as been getting her ready for when i can drive again (medical thing), just started driving this week and noticed that the clutch feels a bit strange and the pedal box emmits a noise, sounds like and feels like the master cylinder is sticking on the upwards and downs wards strokes, as if there is no lubrication in bore of the piston, is this common or is it a case of trying a bleed through first, then if that fails new master cylinder??? If so GSF one or genuine? Cheers all
  23. Thats the problem, carparks! I once sat there in one of my old corrados, waiting for the wife, old dear parked next to me, then repeatedly banged her door into my car about 8 times before i had the chance to open my window and say what the hell you doing! Normal answer smile or shrug, drives me nuts! Luckily the door strip was there that time, ive just spent the last 6 months getting this one into very nice order, and is now my daily drive so want to keep it that way
