  3. Well just dont want to hit the door on anything, as careful as i am, and also gives some protection against idiots and their doors opening onto my car, will mock it up and see how it looks, will get some 3m tape, always comes in handy
  4. Hello all, couple of questions 1) should i put the door strips back on? 2) if so anyone used a succesfull double sided tape, that actually does stick them on? Cheers
  5. Yer that would be good mate, if i can get one made might be able to get them on sale here
  6. Looked into Dieselgeek short shift and unfortuantley he doesnt make them anymore, as the VW parts that were used in construction were so expensive out there in the states, so now a bit stuck. Was thinking about designing my own but need some info on dimensions etc
  7. Thanks for the replies, was looking at a Neuspeed one, anyone out there got one? they are expensive though compared to the B&M about £80 more, is it worth it? as been looking round other forums and people seem to have trouble with the B&M kit???
  8. Just checked the voltage on ign on and running ign on: 11.8 Volts (new battery) running: 14.2 Volts hope this helps
  9. Cheers for links and info all, as a follow up i tracked the connector part number down that plugs in the back of the gauges, its 1J0 972 704 a flat 4 way connector. I then used female iso connectors in the connector block to give an oem finish to the loom, having piggy backed the live from the glove box light for the 12v for the voltmeter, ran the neg from the earth point above fuse box, the sender wire from the sender (0-10bar) from a t-piece setup on top of the oil filter housing, and piggy backed the light circuit from the ashtray light. All of these were as per the wiring diagram in the Bentley manual. Works a treat i get exactly what the book says on both gauges.
  10. Hello all, over the years i have had three Corrado Vr6's and have always been tempted by a short shift set-up, have asked about and had different answers from suppiliers, ranging from do not do it, to yes do it its great especially the Neuspeed kit. Any ideas from people that have actually fitted them? I know they are a pain to fit, but what are they like to live with on a daily basis? Cheers Dan
  11. Hello all, has anyone wired these up? Its the combined set that ARZ sell, used to be an option on Corrados, just got some, i have already installed the oil pressure sender (0-10 bar) and fed a wire through to the car interior. Then there has to be a negative and postive to allow the volt meter to work, and finally a light source. All of which appear to go in through a socket on the back of the gauge assembly/pod, is there a plug in the centre consul in the existing loom for this optional extra? Or is it a case of making my own loom up? Cheers Dan
  12. Mate thats brilliant, been bugging me for days, i know exactly where goes now in the end of the extrusion Cheers Dan
  13. As it says whats this? it fell out of the sunroof panel area as i pulled the panel out to retrim it, couldnt find where it went, so put sunroof panel back in, seems to work fine without it. have left roof lining off till i discover what this part is, seems to have a part number on it: 763 684 959, which comes up as non-existant on VW system. Any ideas anyone????? Cheers
  14. Cheers guys, will be getting down the stealers on monday, have got the fan switch for lower temp switching and thermostat (71 degrees) to do as well at same time, will be good to get some waxoyl in everywhere with bumper off too. At least its not like the wifes mk4 golf with xenons and being 150pd you have to take the bumper off and lights out to change a side light bulb!
  15. Hello all need a new rad fro my Storm, anyone got any suggestion for best/cheapest place to get one? Also do i need to take the bumper off and front panel? Cheers Dan
  16. The finish is pretty amazing i thought, and the stitching is as oem, yer the leather grain is a little coarse, but i think he was trying to match the plastic grain on the steering wheel, was also impressed that he managed to cover the lower part around the VW sign. All in all awesome for £100

  22. Cheers Summersetdub, sorted it this afternoon mate! Had a look at the ABS ECU and there was corrosion on 7 of the connection pins, sprayed some good contact cleaner in there and in the ABS unit connector. Started car and shot down the road gave the brakes some grief three or four quick stops, the light was still on, switched it off, left it 20 mins, then started it again light went off, result! Another test drive, got the ABS working with a fast stop, light still off! Hope this helps others Cheers Dan
