Hers vid of tensioner. Doesn't sound to bad really. Not sure on movement. Notice that the belt slightly, one rib, overlaps end of alternator pulley though?

Good call! leave it with me

Cheers for all posts……..yeah just found a post regarding the M8 bolt to release the tension so will have a go tomorrow. Tensioner and belt seem quite new though? Is it normal for the right hand side of tensioner to 'spring' back and forth,I presume so?
-
Heard a odd noise earlier and noticed the alternator belt was frayed and the tensioner sounded noisy. I'm sure there are posts regarding the belt change, but does the tensioner need a bolt in the threaded hole at the top? There seems a lot of movement on the right hand side of it? I'm in Worcester but from Tenbury/ludlow area originally, so always visiting that way. will keep eye open for any meet dates

Yeah pretty simple light dusting on first coat then heavier on next few. 2x cans cost £30 delivered and 1 can has done two alloys easily…….
-
Thought Id share some pics of my recently plasti dipped alloys. Don't think they came out too bad? One can has done 2 wheels 3 coats on each (gloss black before so silver alloy might need 4or5),and still some left.

hurrrahhh…….got it out!!!! used the drain point to lever it and gave it some 'help' with hammer and bar near pump end to break the seal. Took headlamps off (pita!),fans (pita!),and grille for access. fan cowling is fubar tho. cheers for all advice

Was refitting thermostat housing to cure coolant leak today and I broke the crack pipe where it feeds the oil cooler……..:bonk:!!! Crack pipe will not budge out of the water pump end though? Doesn't it just push in? I know it's easier with the slam panel and rad removed but thats proving difficult with all the screws on top of the headlamps rusted to s**t and won't budge……Any ideas before it goes into the breaking for parts section……..

Cheers guys will get it on the ramps and have a good snoop around where you said
-
I used vwspares.co.uk when I replaced my suspension bits. Website is straightforward and ordering over the phone for unlisted parts a doddle.
-
Yeah will have a look but not sure the leak is coming from that side of the block it's more rear center near the oil filter
-
Yeah will check it out. oil cooler is right by the oil filter isn't it?

Drove the car about a half mile last night and there was puddle of coolant underneath this morning. Coolant level was just about visible in expansion bottle and was still dripping. Seemed to be dripping off the engine by the oil filter. Drove it home, still dripping, jacked the front up,it stopped. Dropped car and run it again,no drips? Changed thermostat, housing and 3 bolts (new housing to block o ring)back in October and coolant has been lost only last couple of weeks. Checked housing bolts today and seem to be nipped up well. No coolant seems visible looking from topside and none on gearbox (where thermostat is above) or starter motor which is below. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated before I start removing slam panel, rad etc for better access. Cheers

Try vw spares/avs site. Found these guys really helpful when I needed thermostat housing bolts.

Hi all, New to corrado's and the forum so thought I'd better post some pic's and details. So first corrado but had few vw's over the years from mk2 gti 8valver big bumper,mk3 16v and mk4 GTTDI 130…….with a 8L S3,Civic typeR,WRX import,mk2 leon FR in candy white with a few others that aren't worth mentioning!…... any car thats pretty nippy really!!:thumb left: Bought this VR as seen in pictures, pretty standard really with minor mods like magnex system and decat pipe plus eibach springs. Most stuff works, sunroof ,spoiler etc. Chuffed to bits with it really, wanted a G60 but spotted this, what I thought was a steal, and glad I did. Noise from engine on song is addictive, especially with the magnex. Had it for 6 Months now and been pretty busy sorting bits and bobs out. Standard shocks were starting to feel a bit spongy,so thought thats the first place to start……… Standard shocks replaced with KYB Ultra SR all round (with the eibach springs) New ball joints, Track rod ends, Drop links, Top mounts front and rear. (all parts purchased from AVS) Had full geometry check once I fitted. Most recent was a thermostat change, which included most of the housing parts due to cracks and new bolts due to the old ones being rusted to s**t!. Luckily not the one hidden away you can't see! Temp needle not moving prompted me to change, thanks to reading posts on here. Chucked in a K&N also. Anyway plenty more to do,powder coat or plasti dip alloys, remap………………. -
Yeah I thought the heater matrix but its still blowing hot and cold well………….maybe a slight leak from it,will keep eye on expansion bottle level

Here's some pics of it…………..

Hello all. Bought my VR6 back in august as a birthday treat to myself and have found this forum to be very helpful for sorting things out. Thought it only right that I should sign up and say hello! Had a 8L S3 not long back and without forums I would have gone mad (complicated motors!,so I appreciate that these sites are lifesavers for a lot of people. So hello again and will probably post soon……………..steamed up windows……….remap needed……….?????
