Sorry for being ignorant holeinmk1, I use the a56 every morning, I did see the Range Rover but didn't think you were waving at me! Not many Range Rovers show much appreciation for the Corrado! Sure you were in a Lexus last time??!!
-
The door is at my work, I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can get the rollers out.

I have a spare drivers door from a 95 N, has glass, good motor and working mechanism. If it is any use to you, let me know. It almost went to the tip yesterday!

Massive thank you to Sean_Jaymo for sending me a spare selector tower. Problem solved, nice smooth gear change and can get 5th again!
-
Thanks, I'll take out the tower tomorrow and have a look. The tower does push down easily for 1st, 2nd and reverse, but something definitely stopping it from lifting up for 5th. Cables seem to be doing their job, movement in all the right directions.

Hopefully someone has seen similar problems, and can offer some advice?! Gearbox working perfectly until this morning, no crunches, grinding or jumping out of gear, just can't get 5th anymore. The gearstick won't move to the right to engage 5th, pushed as far over as I can, it still picks up 3rd. Have also tried at the transmission housing to lift the linkage to get 5th, but it won't move upwards at all, definintely something obstructing it. Has anyone got any ideas please? Thanks!

Well spotted Tom! That was mine, just took the plunge and put it on the road as my daily, having saved it from being broken up a few months ago. I noticed the Lexus on Edenfield roundabout, you should have waved! Hardly ever see another Corrado round here. Colour is Midnight Blue though, not black! Ian :thumbleft:

Took it for an MOT yesterday, hopeful but not optimistic because I think it has been stood out in the rain for about a year and appears to have done more miles than the Starship Enterprise, although has very good history with it. New coilpack, fresh oil and filter, an Italian tune-up and it passed without advisories! Very happy. If everything goes to plan that will be one more VR6 back on the road by the end of the month, saved from being broken for parts!

Now firing on 6 cylinders, thanks to Johnny H for the Bosch coilpack. The old one had a broken connector, full of silicone sealant and rusty pins. Its a wonder there were any sparks at all!
-
Perfect, thanks!
-
Can't see any cracks but hard to tell, someone has gunked it up with silicone sealant by the looks of it! I'll have a look for the fireworks later!
-
Thanks Dox, its the coilpack rectangular box, definitely not got a dizzy cap. Do you think this is the most likely cause of the 2 non-sparks?

Hi everyone, I'm very new to Corrado ownership, having wanted one for years but only ever managed to run old Sciroccos and Golfs up to now. Yesterday I picked up a VR6 which I hope will be make a great running project. But I already need some help from you experienced members! It was fairly obvious when I picked it up that it had a mis-fire on at least one cylinder, no big deal I thought, new plugs and leads might cure it. But I've found out that there is no spark on 2 of the plugs. I've tried various combinations of plugs and leads but no improvement. Am I right to be suspecting the distributor module thing bolted onto the side of the head? Are these easy to get hold of, and how much should I be paying? If it makes any difference, the 2 not firing are the 2 'pins' (top row and bottom row) nearest the front of the car when you are looking at the distributor box from the side of the car, like this: X O O X O O Thanks for any help!
