  1. I cut the ****ty edge off my roof trims the 1st year i got the car, nearly 8yrs later and all is well still. Can't even tell.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. It's a no brainer and give them some occasional love with a wipe of autoglym vinyl & rubber care ;)

  5. After nearly 16 years of faithful service mine (clip) snapped too last week :( Obviously didn't like this cold snap... err no pun intended! :)

Whilst making sure myself that there are definitely no clips 535 823 567 collecting dust at any dealers or VW noticed gruvenparts have help at hand... but at a price, about the same as a new cable.

  6. I have the B&M Racing. Superb build quality and function. Pretty sure it's the 45106 model that's for the Corrado VR. Stealth Racing sell these.

An alternative is from Neuspeed, try Awsome Gti. Cheaper available, where the OE shifter is modified.

Adski, if Vince can't get hold of them then a quick google came up with:

  7. Cheers Kev. It's actually Vince who thinks it will not fit. I've since been on the dog to Euro Car Parts £640.78 (official UK distributor) and they say the same. I think steering rack and/or pipes in the way is the issue.

Reason I asked is that there are certainly UK Corrados out there with them fitted. BILLCOR or should I say Ben-B now :) comes to mind. If these manifolds do actually fit I'd love to know for sure...

Abdul, never pay the sticker price ;)

  8. I'd make sure that the engine is supported underneath, as when I changed mine the engine dropped slightly. One of the bolts goes to engine mount and wouldn't "bite" as I tried to screw it back in. Had to jack up engine while trying to refit it, one of those jobs where you really need 3 hands :confused4:

I have Nick, thanks, and sound advice. Always read your Bentley manual first  Dealer method is to fit an engine support frame!

  9. VR6 has decided to give me some extra work  Starter motor. Can't grubble too much though... it's done it's job for 13yrs! :)

So need a new OE Bosch Starter motor - has the VW part no. 02A 911 023 H stamped on it (may have been superceded now... anyone bored and with access to EKTA mind checking? :) )

As always like to keep everything OE. Since stealer item is also an exchange item and about £160  , does anyone know if the GSF or EuroCarParts ones' are identical refurbed Bosch items?

Any pointers on refitting I should be aware of? Do you apply a light coating of grease to the spindle or anything? The copper bush set in the housing looks like fun to remove! Once out (I'll try not to drop it in to the housing  ) any pointers on fitting the new one? Does it just push straight in or does it require a gentle but firm shove? :norty:

    TIA
