  1. Hmm. Looks like the Bosch Silver on my VR6 needs replacing... been solid for 5yrs so won't moan. Sure it would have lasted longer were it not for the Alpine Sat Nav + Amp...

Any VR owners with a few toys fitted opted for anything in particular recently? Since a new Bosch Silver is now £86... might try something else. Remember my OE battery back in '95 was a Varta... Varta Silver Dynamic reads well... anyone running one of those?

    TIA

Hi Dom - I've got an Odyssey PC1200 for sale at present. Its what cheesewire (Kev) recommended and uses. A true fit and forget item. Granted its a little bit more - but you get what you pay for!

Thanks for the offer, but seems there is life still in the old Bosch Silver. It was fully charged... it's the starter motor that's the issue

  3. Bit of an odd one so don't think I'm :cuckoo: ... but any Recaro owners know if their seats have standard Corrado seat belt anchors fitted? Do they just bolt on to the seat base (inner) corner as they do on the standard seats?

Close up shot of the seat belt anchor in situ if anyone has their Recaros unfitted at the moment would be nice :) Bet you've never been asked for a photo of one of those before!

    TIA

  4. Fixed it....... Loose bolt on the reverse select thingy going into the gearbox, I now can return from whence I came without turning around. Ta for the help though

Had the same happen to me last night... pull up to wait for my wife, black cab pulls up behind so edge forward for him as his arse is stupidly sticking out. He goes off on his merry way so I select reverse... and move forward instead! After two more goes I've edged too close to the parked car in front for me to pull out! At this point my lovely wife gets in. I get out... pop the boot, pretend I'm looking for something then pull the C backwards. "Dom! Dom! the car's moving!" I get back in, "don't panic... that'll be the new reverse gear dear" :norty:

Culprit, loose nut that holds the gear shift cable. For those with the Bentley, it's nut 'B' in section 34.10 Gearshift mechanism, adjusting/checking. Will replace with a self locking nut me thinks! :)

Don't worry VR... I still :luvlove: you

  8. Sheppards in Bishop's Stortford gave me parts club prices and a 10% discount on everything else I just ordered (pushing £250!) just by me saying I had a Corrado Club membership. They didn't even ask for my membership number.

Thoroughly nice chap too, extremely helpful.

Wonder who set that up back in the day ;) As you said Dinkus, still a top bunch. Esp. Steve (boss), John & Ross

  9. I'm in depression :( I've sold my beloved VR :shaking:

Sold to the first chap who came to see it. End of an era for me. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of owner her, and there is no doubt in my mind, the Corrado VR6 is a classic!

I'll be joining you one day  ... but not just yet!

Seriously, has been a pleasure trading stone chips with her bruv... but onwards and upwards hey

Just reminisce on all the quality hoons we've pulled.

To a peach of a VR + pilot... I salute you :salute:

    Dom

  10. grubby headliner cleaned aswell

Which reminds me to do mine  What did you clean it with as you seem to have done a pukka job?

Loving the red switches and clocks, bang up to date... top work :)

  11. Dom- where the hell have you been? Never seen you post on the forum before!

    Jay

I'm always about mate. Just don't have the time to be so 'active' in winding Alex up on-line these days :D Nice progress with your C mate, never fail to impress with your determination & was sorry to hear about your prang. Regards to the best looking thing in your life though... Alex ;) No! Not you Pose-Gil!

  12. Hopefully a valver owner will confirm, but I think you have one BLACK sensor (1.4 bar, yellow wire) and one BROWN (0.3 bar, blue/black wire). Also can't remember which of the two, but a new one from a stealer will come in BLUE now. Confused?! :confused4:

    HTH

  13. I don't take the engine over 5500 rpm anyway (no need to, even with the 268s)

Hey :?: :!: :!: :shocked!: You haven't lived  328, ta tah :) Try it... especially now.

Be joining the 268 brigade in a few months but mated to my VSR. Glad to read that there's another happy chappie out there with this poven mod. The most famous of course is the legandary Kieron Johnson :salute: , proved beyond doubt they really make the VR fly! :D :D :D

  14. Chance may also be a fractured clutch release lever - 02A 141 709 A - hence having to mash your pedal way in to the carpet as the slave cylinder pin has to extend that much further.

Hope you get it sorted soon otherwise the slave cylinder might start to leak as it is now pushing further out than it's used too especially if it's an early metal one (plastic on later cars).

Stealth (Southam) will sort you out.

  15. Hi Jim

First check that none of the circlips are missing or loose. At the top swivel point or down below where the cables connect. Common.

If all is in order there then with the gearbox in neutral whip off the gearbox end weight. Note it's position i.e. it has a locating pin on the underside You'll see where the shifter cable connects and that it is adjustable. Get a mate to go through the gears so you see how it works. For example you say 2nd is a problem. When you engage 2nd (gearshift is pulled back) you'll see the cable is pushed forward at gearbox end. Get your mate to put her in neutral and hold the gearshift steady. You loosen the retaining nut and pull the cable a tiny amount forward and tighten. Fire her up and test all gears letting the clutch out carefully of course just in case you've over/under adjusted. Hopefully you'll be a happy chappie first time round and replace the weight :D Basically it's a patience game with the adjustment.

    Hope you get it sorted.

  16. Have you tried changing your ignition switch first?

Check the small vacuum hose that goes in to the fr/right corner of the inlet manifold/your VGI for any splits/holes.

Try swapping the ISV or clean yours with carb. cleaner.

Hopefully not a faulty MAF sensor as expensive. If just a dirty sensor from induction cone use try some carb cleaner. Think the Bentley w/manual has a check you can do I. Worth checking no damage to the wires on the connector wires or any visible corrosion on the pins when you unplug it.

Late '94s have the factory immobiliser but if she starts ok that cancels that one out.

Hope you get it sorted as can imagine you fustration
