Its got to be one of the most annoying things on the road  , never seen a C with its fogs on, normally only Saxo's/pug 106 etc that do it. If their coming towards me I normally hold my full beams on until they pass, I doubt they turn them off but it makes me feel better. If their behind I normally slow down so they can pass me but this means that I have to slow down to milk float speed as their 1L or 1.1 with peco exhaust cant cope with overtaking at speeds over 15mph. Its not cool and the C doesn't need its fog lights on to look good..

Are they the ones half way up Kentwood Hill, I saw a Burgandy one at the weekend and there used to be a white one with black plates there as well. Mines not a VR so I guess it wasn't me but I normally pass the water tower at that time. Look out for mine, midnight blue 2L 16v. I live just off Westwood Rd Simon

Because they went to the top of the flats being built three storeys high and hid, but one did get out and I'm sure he had a sore head, back etc the next morning (hence the bit, 'my bro came back with a sore foot and hand). I bet he wished he'd stayed with his mates! There was no way I was climbing anywhere with my busted up leg still in a brace.! Rung the police for other peoples safety as well, they might have tried it again, and the company thats in charge of the site should have better security and the police should this know about I guess.

Similar thing happened to me in the Supra last year, I was driving past a building site when all of a sudden there was a huge bang. At first I thought the engine had decided to blow up, but when I opened my eyes I realised that some dirty little scum bags had thrown something at my car from the building site, narrowly missing the windscreen and possibly my brothers face. I stopped the car and my brother jumped out and legged it towards the site, I was still barely walking after breaking my leg three months before so I got on the phone to the police, who were useless as usual. (They threw a big lump of concrete mixture at us from 3 storeys up.) We cornered them in the site but one managed to escape and my brother quickly gave chase, a slight mismatch as my brother is lightening quick. After 30 mins with the scum still cornered and my bro just coming back with a sore foot and hand.(he must have fell or something!) we decided that the police weren't going to turn up so we went home. About two hours later the police turned up at my house!! Thats a pretty quick response time. Have they got nothing better to do?? Where the hell are their parents? Scum  We didn't get injured so thats the main thing I guess.. and it only caused small amount of damage as it hit the bonnet and window and skimmed off leaving loads of scratches

Didn't say it was a 94-M reg

How much should I advertise my C for? I know I've only had it for 3 months but I'm bored of it. Might go for a Golf Rallye.. or C G60, the latter is my first choice if I find a nice one. 2L 16v 72K miles in Midnight Blue Full VW service history £££'s spent since I bought it 3months ago Which includes: Rear discs, rear bearings, cambelt and tensioners, oil cooler, service(at VW) All standard apart from 15" momo wheels with nearly new tyres (not my choice) Bodywork very good apart from couple of light carpark dings but nothing serious only scuffs. This is not an advert as I need to sort more funds first, depending on how much I sell this for.. What do people think? I paid £4K for it and it would be good to get my money back considering how much I've spent in short space of time?? Cheers

Yeah but he wasn't that bothered, I'm sure he'll give you some discount. The man can talk can't he!! He was ranting on about sky tv for a good half an hour the last time I was there, quite funny though. He's determined not to pronounce the word Corrado properly, he calls it a 'corridor'!! Have you decided what to buy when you get rid of the G60? How about a BMW e30 318iS or a low mileage R5 GTT thats in near mint cond.? I think I might put them up in for sale section, you never know, both are extremely well looked after examples, the bm has a huge folder of receipts and history and I owned it for a year so it must be good.!! Both my bro's, I'm trying to persuade him to buy a G60 or valver when he sells them, but he wants a Rallye or other golf.

Normally get to work at 9ish but moving back to Reading soon so might start getting in earlier to miss the traffic. I work at Celltech, in the blue ugly buliding. The C's over at Ray Williams of Burnham at the mo he's changing the timing belt, it clicked over to 70K at miles at the weekend and it hasn't been done so I thought I'd better not chance it since the belt went on my Supra (non-interference engine, lucky for me!!!) and I don't generally have much luck with cars. Hopefully after this is done I can start spending money on getting the car looking how I want instead of just spending money on keeping it on the road all the time!

Dan I think I know who you mean, if it was quite shabby looking(I thought he'd had it resprayed brown with a red flip when I first saw it) then its the same guy I pass every day when I drive from Maidenhead, to work in Slough. It could be someone else though?? Si

I'm a fermentation scientist and work in the bioprocess dept for Celltech R&D (UK's biggest biotech company). We do medical research for cancer/crohns disease etc.

I have found a set of G60 BBS wheels at SuperGolf imports, they want £250 which includes nearly new tyres, all wheels in excellent condition. It sounds like a pretty good deal! :D What do you guys think?
-
Just when you thought this thread had died... I think I'm going to go for the G60 BBS alloys, I know strictly speaking thats not keeping the car standard but there still from a C right!! Just found two on ebay but I was too late!! Does anyone have a spare set lying around?? How rare are they??
-
Maybe I wont be going standard then!!!
-
I've got an idea what they look like, but because everyone seems to junk the originals you don't see many C's with them. The wheels on mine at the mo, 15" Momo something or other, are awful and I don't think they suit the C at all plus they are kerbed to buggery (previous owner)!! Looking to change them before the summer with BBS splits, but not sure which ones, nothing too big, I want to keep to the original looks as much as possible. Has anyone got pics of original wheels for 2.0 16v? or link?? Cheers in advance Si

I've found where it's coming from but not sure whether I should drive it to get it sorted, I found it yesterday as I started to wash the car. Its leaking from the top of the oil cooler, I did notice oil on drive a week ago when it came back from VW but I thought it was housemates mk3 GTi as we found a small leak on that. Could it be down to incorrect fitment of new oil filter??? or just one of those things?? Is it easier enough to sort? DIY looks easy enough to get to

I'm sure that was me but I have a 2L, I recognised your C tho. What colour do you think it is? can't seem to find colour codes but haven't looked that hard... Sometimes it looks black, sometimes it's clearly blue, when sunlight hits it you can see a glitter sort of effect, not that bothered as its a nice colour. I don't think its aqua.
-
we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??

24, not sure this one's going to make it to my 25th tho. Been eyeing up other C's already, can't decide whether I want to pile cash into this one, to bring it up to my standards or save cash and buy a VR???? -
Its being serviced right now by the stealers, it was my only option really, apart from not being a lazy shite and doing it myself, the garage is only five minute walk from my work on Slough Trading estate... The Supra was always treated with optimax so the C won't be any different. Since I got a good price for the Supra and I obviously didn't spend it on the C I have a bit of spare cash to spend on it. What's the first thing I should treat the C to??, that's assuming the stealers don't pick up something horrible.

Cheers guys, The car was advertised as black but as soon as I saw it I knew it wasn't. The log book says blue and I keep meaning to check the codes but couldn't remember where to check, it does say on C club pages somewhere... Its very dark blue but I'm not sure its aqua unless the paintwork has just deteriorated with bad cleaning and polishing routines, the car was only used for weekend trips down the motorway and the occasional trip to the shops for a good 40K and the bloke seemed really sad to be parting with it (wife was 8 months pregnant) but he was no enthusiast, I caught him putting a can of coke on top of the car when I was walking down the road towards the car, not a good sign but maybe I'm being a bit over the top.(No on second thoughts I'm not) First day of ownership I gave one of my housemates a lift to work, on getting into the car he decides to open the door not just enough to get his fat arse in, oh no!! he wants the door fully open and slams the door into a huge spikey bas***d bush, I wasn't happy and he was politely warned not to do it again. Once the car is up to a good standard I'll definitely be down to a meet, I'll try to put some pics as well. Si

Picked up my M plate 2.0 16V on Monday I'm fairly happy with the car but I think it could be running better. If anyone on here lives in Maidenhead/Slough area, where do you take your C's to be looked at? Simon
-
Cheers for the quick response guys, I think importing is going to be the last option, but I like to keep my options open. Your right there are plenty of nice C's over here and I'm sure one will come along at the right time, I just have to be patient. thanks Si

How many people own an imported C? Any advice for someone thinking about importing one??? i.e Costs involved, and is it actually worth it.???
