Not sure what you mean by dented in? Yeah I've heard supersprint are gd bit sadly mines seen its day now:( Any one know if that exhaust sytem fits a early hanger car?
-
Cheers for the replies guys sounds like what I want, my current exhaust is a super sprint mid box and a unknown back box, its very boomy, although ive noticed most g60's share this trait
-
Hi guys Looking for a new exhaust system for my g60 due to it currently having the worst fitting exhaust known to man, looks like these jetex kits are the only pre made its available. Any one used one? http://www.awesomegti.com/jetex-ss-catback-exhaust-corrado-1-8-16v-2-0-8v-16v-g60-vr6 Kyle

Hi guys not had a chance to have a proper look but I have changed the silencer box for a rsr outlet and im now getting a reading of 1910 on the mfa that seems ok for a 68mm pulley? Although the charger looks like its been passing oil, not sure if this amounts normal? i havent had to top up since I noticed the oil on the bottom of the car, and the little puddles of oil the car left behind has stopped since I changed the oil pressure switch.
-
Lol well hopefully but it does seem excessive, to the point that oils even all over the subframe and the floor and the rear bumper lol. On the upside I now know my silencer leaks. planning to compression test it at the weekend bit tbh after seeing it wasnt breathing heavy last night I now suspect the charger, just gotta work out just how much oil its passing
-
Hi Im getting no smoke at idle or under load that I can see in the mirror so thats a good sign. no, return lines a gd shout, it looks old, ill try check that tomz I really hope your right but tbh the pics dont seem to be showing it well, there is oil gathering in the bottom of the silencer, think im going to run the engr with thw silencer off and see how much oil spray there is
-
Ok so ive just pulled the boost return pipe of and there is quite a bit of oil in there as well So I pulled the breather hose of the rocker and ran the engine, at idle no smoke when revved theres so white/grey smoke but not a lot tbh, seems normal. Guessing the charger seals have blown:( and the oil is coming bk down the boost return ?
-
pic as requested:) as you can see theres a lot of oil passing, im going to check the boost return tonight to see if a lot is coming down there Charger was rebuilt mid this year, going to check the warantee tonight.
-
Hi cleaned the pipe from the charger and the silencer out when I had the charger rebuilt although it wasnt as bad bk then, its 100% leaking out between the two halfs of the silencer, the silencer is full of oil. I understand that there was prob oil left in the intercooler but the charger is definitely pasaing oil, just trying to work out if its due to the charger or oik actually going in the charger from the breather cheers

Hi guys ok so short story, heres goes after buying my g60 I noticed that the front of the engine was all ways soaked in engine oil, it appeared to be coming from the silencer box on the charger so even tho the charger ran fine I had it rebuilt by jabbasport. Now boosts better and am happy with the charger but im still noticing the oil leaking from the silencer box, in fact its every where around the front now now plus there is a lot in the boost pipes so I know its coming from the charger. But what I am noticing is that the intake side of the charger has a lot of oil in as well, so possibly passing down the boost return? Now my diagnosis is split between these 2 1. Charger seals, failed on charger before rebuilt and then jabba failed to change it? 2. Worn rings/bores, oils coming from boost return due to breather, tbh ny money is on this, seems suspiciously wet on the intake side Opinions guys?

Hi guys ive found this bung, I can only presume this is why they sell this, any way ive orded one so ill reported back when its fitted https://m.vwheritage.com/productDetails.cfm?iItemID=34356775k

Yeah was thinking of just putting another sender in there but from what I remember they dont come with a new retaining clip? Id need a extra to use this flange
-
Hi guys my g60 is leaking pretty bad from the coolant flange on the front of the engine ( the one with the temp sender s in). I got one from gsf but it has a extra sender port on the bottom, it looks like I could use it if I out a old sender in the bottom or something but obv I would like the correct part, any one know where to get one? Ecp and gsf only stock the one mentioned btw cheers kyle

Ive never used por15 but heard good things although prep seems to be a major thing Ive been using epoxy mastic 121 on my bug, it remains flexible so is ideal in a place like the underside there it might get hit by stones and the like Although mixing it up is a royal pain:(
-
Welcome:) Great find there mate, recently got myself a g60 as well, for much more than 800 tho!!
-
Hi guys Well just been out and had a look again to find you guys are correct the vac lines are the wrong way round. Swapped them and its running a treat! Cheers to every one who helped:)
-
Hi Are you 100% sure, just checked mine at theres two ports Not quite inline Slightly to drivers side bit at the top Slightly to passenger side but lower ( connected to ecu ) If your correct it would appear mine is plugged up wrong. Kyle
-
Hi guys Tryed the throttle switchs, both showed continuity or no continuity as operated, all seems normal there. I havent ever removed the other vaccum line behind there but it always possible its wrong from a previous owner. Any one know what port the 1m ecu should go on? Cheers Kyle
-
Done it with bts disconnected and made sure fan had kicked in at least once but didnt rev over 3k so ill have a re-check tommorow. Runs better with bts disconnected, idle a bit better although still very rich. both throttle switchs click when they should and ive confirmed the idle one is ok with a meter, ill check the wot switch tommorow. The joys of running a g60 daily lol:(

Hi again guys Ok guys well ive just got my self a lovely gun timing light and set the timing too 6 degrees btdc mark on the flywheel and 2250 rpm, co pot is currently at 800 ( read some where that this is a gd base figure when running 68mm pulley and st4 charger) No change:(( Still smoking badly at idle, noticed today that its black but does seem like it has a blue steak to it whats worrying:( Kyle
-
Hi Yeah ive lots of really gd things about JMR but sadly his a bit of a trek from me so ill have to get a lil bit mote desperate yet. Im going to check the metel pipe that t's of the mani as ive noticed it jumps around alot so possibly cracked from fatigue Cheers Kyle
-
Hi Ignition timing is a good shout, since owning the car ive done the the timing belt. Now as a guide I was told to turn the dizzy so that the rotor is point just before the notch on the dizzy housing, as a general guide. The car didn't run any different after the job but it hasn't be set correctly, guess ill have to learn how to use a timing light lol. Ive not tryed swapping the sensor plugs around but I can try that tomorrow Cheers Kyle
-
Hi:) Ah ill not worry about the oil temp then. Im currently running with the lambda unplugged With it unplugged the car idles poor, can be jerky at low rpm, some times hunts and puffs black or greyish smoke at idle ( its hard to tell). If the car idles for say 5 min it will throw out a cloud of black smoke when revved. Im some times seeing smoke when going WOT If the lambda is plugged it its exactly the same except it hesitates badly when pulling off and is even more jerky at low rpm cheers
-
Hi guys Cheers for the replies. Lol 40 mpg!!!! What I do to get even 30 Lambda is a genuine vw one from ebay (old stock I guess), ive done visual checks and found one wire to be a poor connection into the block so that wire now bypass's the block and is plugged in via spade connectors. Im not entirely sure how to check the lambda harness correctly? Never unplugged the BTS while running but have ohms tested it at full temp and it read 180 ( if I remember correctly) Talking of full temp, it runs at 70-80c coolant temp and only hits 90 in traffic. Oil temp shows 100c+ so engine is hot, not sure if this is relayed to the fault? Cheers

Any advice? Cars doing 17mpg now so getting to the point that its costing my £100 a week in fuel:((
