Hi guys I changed my VR6's steering wheel last weekend - from a 16v wheel to a proper VR6 one. God knows why it had an inferior wheel on it in the first place, but anyway. Now when I turn the ignition on the horn blares continuously. I have taken the fuse out temporarily, but what have I done to cause this? I'm pretty sure it's an issue with relays or something, and not a connection issue with the horn push, which seems fine. I have read (after the event, obviously), that you should disconnect the battery when changing the wheel. any ideas? cheers Rick

For 1993 car. The little disc with the numbers has come off, never to be seen again, so I need a new gearknob. Cheers Rick

I just need the disc that shows the gear numbers. Mine pinged off, never to be seen again. Thanks Rick

VR6 idle stablilisation valve disconnected - car runs better?

How'd you do that Jim? i think the car's lambda sensor wiring has been buggered about with in the past, and the MFA shows nothing for MPG or oil temp (if that is of any relevance) -
VR6 idle stablilisation valve disconnected - car runs better?
Reverend Frog replied to Reverend Frog's topic in Engine Bay
it's probably too low on cold start, and gear changes are slightly lumpy for a few minutes, but it's worth it to have a car that doesn't cut out what does the electrical connector actually connect to? and am I doing any harm by having it disconnected? -
My 1993 VR has been conking out at junctions since I got it, so I did the usual ISV clean out this morning (didn't seem to be too dirty, plus not sure I did this part properly - just squirted brake cleaner in and shook it about). Lo and behold the car now idles beautifully at junctions...but i just realised that i forgot to hook up the electrical connector on the end when I was refitting it. The car seems to be running fine without it, so I might leave it alone for the time being. is there any problem with doing this? Thanks

I'm going to resurrect this thread as I've got this problem at the minute too. It just started after I got the car washed so I suspect some water has crept in somewhere. There is a noticeable 'tick' from the motor when you try and engage the switch, but nothing else. this applies to both the driver and passenger side switches, so they're not at fault. Driver's side window still works fine. does anyone have any ideas?

Good stuff. How much for P&P? Rick

Thanks guys... probably going to chase up some Speedlines for it eventually. PS you can click on the pic to enlarge it :)

For under the fog light and heated windscreen buttons. Don't have a pic to hand of what I mean, sorry. Please reply to this thread if you have one for sale. Thanks

this is my new Rado and I'm trying to stay faithful to VW's vision. Am I right in thinking that these wheels are not OEM for a 1993 VR6? and does anyone know what model of BBS they are? cheers

Just joined the forum today, lots of good stuff on here already. After three mk2 Sciroccos I finally upgraded to a 1993 Corrado VR6, and it's a lovely car. Here it is: Remarkably good nick for the year, but obviously not without its faults! Any guidance on the following would be much appreciated: First gear crunches like hell when it is engaged at anything other than a dead standstill slight 'ticking' noise from the engine, very dull, but there electric mirrors go up, down and left, but not right neither the MPG nor oil temp functions on the MFA work

Were there 2 different types of VR6 steering wheel?

I have the one on the right in my 93 VR
