[ATTACH=CONFIG]83634[/ATTACH] Went to Vanology in Corby today on a power test organised by the vwdrc Dean there rules awesome dude and after doing all the 2.0 16v oem upgrades it pushed 199.9bhp at the flywheel stoked but lost 80Bhp at the wheels (mmm interesting to find where thats disappearing to.

As far as I know the head will be a straight swap but I would use the KR inlet cam better pull.

Glad your getting some very useful information, my issue was generally all the time plus any of the vacuum hoses can cause problems plus the air box can be an issue. good luck.

Have you checked the wiring to the throttle body? I found on mine that 2 of the 3 cables had weathered fell apart and once I replaced them poor intermittent idling and losing power was sorted. Just a thought?

Last weekend I took my car to the GTI Festival at Santa pod. At the festival last year I ran a 17.9s 1/4 mile. This year with a 50mm inlet I ran a 16.9, 16.85, 16.88, then swapped the upper manifold for a 42mm which had been cut down 30mm and the upper section drilled out to 49mm. The times were en 16.7, 16.6, 16.8, 16.5s pretty happy about knocking 1.4s of my 1/4 time with mainly oem modifications. [ATTACH=CONFIG]82498[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]82499[/ATTACH]

Sorry for the late reply I used the original bolts but my car is not a daily driver I did race it at Santa Pod on Sunday with no issues.

ok over the last 2 weekends. Removed corroded water pump inside top left bolt sheared. Drill and retap refit. swap sunroof for one that works and add 5mm spacers to the wheels. Hoovered inside.

My mk2 golf used to do exactly that and it was sorted when the fuel pump was changed hope this helps.

Hello, my step son blew his abf in his mk3 golf estate drag racing at santa pod at big bang, I bought him a 9a off ebay so he can swap them over so he can get to work then strip the abf and rebuild it. He will be using all the abf manifolds and throttle assembly plus the ecu. My question is does the 9a have a crank position sensor and will this swap be possible as I know its kinda backwards compared to what is normally done any help will be splendid. Especially as the 9a will be our spare engine once the abf is rebuilt.

Hello, could somebody please tell me where the idle screw is on a 2.0L 16v 9a throttle body. I have spent many hours on line looking for this information and everything I have found does not correspond to my throttle body, eg pic of a throttle body:- this is the idle screw, mine does not have this. Please help.

Plus I once had a camper bay window it was stolen never recovered, Headlight and rear lights upgraded, chipped, air box modified, kr inlet cam fitted 50mm inlets fitted different wheels audi TT wipers fitted by myself and my step son massive vw fan all his life, coilovers and decat stainless fitted by my mates garage . Great fun to work plus being able to do those things I couldnt afford to do when I was younger.

I also fitted the 50 mm inlet plus the KR inlet cam last weekend, proper treat with my decat and chipped it seriously shifts now, I also did not notice the torque difference.
