atleast if you keep the spare 2 plugs come a 4th service you won't have to buy them haha!
-
Haha yeah can't go wrong for £200. That was my debate in how much I worked it out to cost to make the car road worthy again was just more than to buy one ready to go! But on your front of building it with your son suppose it would make perfect for a project!
-
Agree with the previous comments looks like a nice one. I would keep it and just use for a summer cruiser. Doesn't sound like it needs much to be back on the road either :)

Well just a quick update after considering people's opinions on here and looking at all different engines of corrado decided to bite the bullet and go look at another forum members 2.0 16v tomorrow as for my budget just seems all vr6 are just looking abit old and tired and high mileage with not a lot of history. And I'm only using the car as a daily and mainly town driving so not much need for a vr6 as would never really open it up to hear the noise anyway haha!
-
Hi mate. Was this the one that's up for sale on gumtree? Changed your mind on selling?
-
I too have come across a vr6 in similar condition local too me! Been left by the owner for almost 3 years so thought I would do some digging into it and try purchase. Knocked on a few doors and managed to get a contact number for the guy. Had a look round the car before the call turns out all the brakes are seized and rusted all the tyres are flat, bodywork would need a full respray and a new front wing, interiors all mouldy, cheeky of me but the car was open so popped the bonnet and had look. Looks like it has an oil leak or a few haha and coolant tank was bone dry! So possible problem maybe big or small who knows! although the mileage reading was working with about 172k with and the service book in glovebox but only upto 110k. So rang the guy and we had a chat and he said he just hasn't got the time or funds to fix the car and said he can't just leave it another winter. Offered the car to me for £500. Tried to knock him down to £300 but just wouldn't move. Told him to get back to me if he changes his mind haha.

BUMP! Still looking got around £2200 to spend!
-
Haha think someone has been watching too much mad max!.
-
Got my eye on it on ebay so will see! Got a feeling it will rocket in the last few minutes haha!
-
Yeah just something I am trying to avoid really. Haha I did look at the mk3 vr6 noticing they are a lot cheaper car but then again I want a corrado than I do just a vr6 haha! Another option I was thinking of was to maybe purchase a valver and have that as a daily car until I can get a vr6 on classic insurance then have one as a secondary car so that way it makes more enjoyable to drive as a weekend toy! :)
-
Thanks for all the advice everyone! Think i will just hold off for a while and have a good think about which i would prefer and what suits my lifestyle better while benefiting the car aswell. Yeah the more standard parts the better really as i have seen how some people just butcher cars and there wiring just get upgraded parts working.
-
Haha i just dont know what to do! May even just get a nice shell and just convert it to quad cycle! (Like what richard hammond did to a gold porsche on top gear). But then again it would be easy enough to get a bike and use that for the commute! Just deciding really on getting a valver and using it as a nice looking daily or just getting a vr6/g60 and using it as a day off car? Decisions decisions! :/
-
No its okay :) just made me rethink alot of my options really! because i do more short journeys than long, but i do completley agree about in not being your everyday work car but working 6 days a week i dont think i would really see the full benefit of owning a vr6! Last thing i want to do is end up just wasting money on fuel and potetionally damaging my own car just for the sake of small journeys!
-
Ah sorry just seen this comment. I didnt really know that about the vr6s as said this is my first corrado and nobody has actually said anything about them on the warming up subject.....
-
That would be no problem as current cars a3 1.8t so always warmed up and cooled down every journey.
-
I will be more than likely to modify the car to my own taste so again i suppose that will affect future price, but it wouldnt be anything that couldnt be reversed to standard again. Like i say it would be a daily but i only have around a 5 mile commute but its then how it would hold out in doing long journeys to car shows and see family etc that would worry me?
-
Yeah tried adrian flux, hic and classicline and they are all way more than i want to pay! Anyone you could think to give a try?
-
Okay great. Again i dont mind having a car with higher mileage just if it would be a case of getting the engine overhauld its not something i would be able as im not that mechanically skilled in the engine area? So can imagine that not being cheap at a garage to have done :( Hello! Yes will be used as my daily as with only being 21 although having 3 nearly 4 years ncb im struggling to find anyone that will take one on classic insurance and cant afford too have two standard seperate policies :(
-
Points very well made but again do you not think with such high mileage like the one i have been offered that it will just damage the future classic price?
-
Haha thats the only problem i have been offered a few cars but they all have there good and bad points like a clean vr6 with leathers but has 186k miles and again a dark blue one with 94k on but is a 1.8 :( so hard to decide what to do haha! Yeah i dont mind at all getting stuck into working on my cars! Lets the time pass on those days off! Just a case of cost of if im putting mor money into one that needs work against saving more and finding one that doesn't haha!

[/quote=Chuggs1;1057748]http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/381121039155. This is the grey one. Although not met the reserve.. so no idea what that's set at. That ones added to the watch list ;)
-
Seen that one looks like a good example. Just reading the description says an extra £700 for the extra parts so would assume thats out the price range! :( Half tempted by the yellow g60 haha!
-
Yeah definetly im just abit impatient haha but just trying to stay sensible and get one thats going to worth keeping BarberG60-it seemed okay was quiet enough but then again i didnt see it started from cold he told me he had been running it in the morning and it doesnt overheat. Which again concerns me! I dont mind doing any body work but i would much rather a clean rust free one. Seanl82-again i did ask him of he was fixed on that price and he seemed certain but then again i didnt really barta with him about on all the niggles as i wasnt 100%. Again dont mind getting involved with cosmetics :) Just proving hard too find one around the 2k budget thats a clean body with good history :(

Hi guys just got back from viewing the car! Turns out that the guy who actually has the car and advertised it is selling it for a friend so i didnt actually speak to the owner? This guy didnt even know the spolier had a switch :/ Turns out the chap who owns it has done for a year and a half and in that it has only done 150miles? Bad points being the splitter is missing, front fog is cracked and the bottom of both front wings are rusted and also small spots of rust round rear windscreen. Although it does have fsh and alot of receipts feom audi and vw garages also for a chain tensioner in 2002. And also has the original first aid kit in rear lumber! What do you guys think? Worth making him an offer??

Inboxed you!! :)
