just got some new wheels but ! :? et is 38 and they are 16x8 's, want them on my corrado and i am going to put 205x45x16 tyres on. before i do, can anyone forsee any probs with the et and sizes :? brand new wheels i bought at sensible money so i can always ebay them on no trouble. but i do like them and dont want 17's as they dont drive as nice in my opinion.

with 16" wheels what profile tyres will i need to keep the correct rolling radius on my 16v corrado, also what width is best on 8 J rims. thanks in advance.
-
will wheels for a mk 2 golf have the correct offset for the corrado ?? they are after market wheels not standards.
-
well i listened today and it sounds a bit relay sort of sounding, not positive though. definatly from dash though.

i am doing mine this weekend but i have bought new hubs and bearings, i remember doing my golf ones, this will make it easier. i am also putting new wishbones, rollbar link rods and complete lowering kit on. so it should be like a new car at the front end. hopefully :)
-
just the joints really, the wipers tend to do a flop at the end of the wipe if you understand that.
-
mostly on really hot days when i turn the ignition, key before the car turns over i get a buzzing noise from in the dash area ??? any ideas. 93 2l valver.
-
any fixes repair kit etc, all the linkages and bushes are worn on my 93 valver. any ideas for a repair.

i am an ol git at 35 £260 fully comp on corrado 16v and £440 fully comp on the R 32. both with elephant.
-
just see on the news, one garage is now chargeing 99.8p per litre  now that is a complete pi$$ take.
-
well yeah ok, but i would choose r 32 over a corrado but then again i have both, when you drive them back to back there is no comparison.
-
i had a new polo gti in 2001, i found it very dissapointing, i think i was expecting it to be like a mk1 golf for some reason. funny how with all the latest stuff on board you still prefer a 18 year old, car that is
-
yeah i know but it sounds worse than it is, everytime i catch it people in the street point and go awwwww glad thats not mine.
-
90 mm one fitted, i could do with a 50 mm one then. anyone have one for sale.
-
i keep catching mine and the car is at standard ride height what the hell will it be like when i lower it

:) i didnt realise how quick they are, and it handles superbly. got to wait until we come back from isle of man TT to pick it up though  alacantra grey half leather interior and in pearl blue metallic, sounds awesome when you floor it. makes my corrado feel really sluggish, i can feel a vr6 comming on. -
i have put a new cable on mine and the clip is still on the end notch seems to work fine though.

anything can be made good and buying something like that when money is tight or as a hobby it is a good idea. you can spend a bit of time whenever and spend cash when you are able to afford it. HAVE VISION AND LOOK BEYOND THE SHABBY PAINT. the most important thing is that the shell is solid and you can do alot of the mechanical work yourself. i personally would buy that car for $500 which is only about £300 to me.

Pics and bodyshop details please. not really worth putting up pictures as they all look good until you see them in the flesh, thing is with having part paintwork done it can sometimes make the rest of the car look poor. mine looks right and i am happy, £320 cash was the dearest quote i got and £180plus vat cheapest, which i thought was going to turn out crap. as i had budgeted £400 i took the dearest quote. nice guy and experienced so i dont really see any problems arising. i could of had the whole car done for £900 but didnt really see the point as its not a show car and i like performance goodies so would rather spend cash on the engine. we all have different opinions. garage i used is local and well known in kettering. pm me if you want details.
-
good greif where do you guys go for paintwork £800 £900 for a front end  i have just had one complete side, rear bumper, both mirrors, and the panel below the rear lights in metalic blue, he even fitted two new door hinge pins at the same time. done proffessionally (not by a mate) in a garage for £320 cash. the job is absolutly top notch and i am really happy, oh and i am a picky fucker aswell. mine was only stone chips and light scratches and i apreciate the cost of stripping but i really do think you need to shop around.
-
let us know how you get on. mine went in for a few bits of stonechiped paintwork today and new door hinge pins on the drivers door. then come the winter a big engine rebuild. vr6 would cost me to much in petrol as i only do short journeys most of the time. and they are big money when they go wrong.

i have tryed for two weeks to get one from GFS and they still cant get me one, apparently they can only locate one but why they cant get it for me i dont know. :(

sorry mate but i would get rid of it, once you start welding it will never be the same nomatter how good the guy is. it will look nice for a while but when the mot comes around in a couple of years you will regret putting the money into it. can you not get a good shell and change everything good once its painted. i only paid £2,200 for mine, one owner from new, not perfect but very minor cosmetics reqd and it goes in for those on tuesday £300 for cash. sorry to put a dampener on things but in all honesty you can't polish a turd. i have been in the exact same situation with several cars and bikes and take it from me you will not be happy and deep down you know i am right. sorry for being blunt but you did ask for opinions.
