I have a Pioneer CDX-P1210 12 disc multi changer and I would like to get a head unit that is compatible with with it. Does anyone know if there are any head units currently on sale (model numbers if possible) that will fit the bill or will I have to start trawling through 2nd hand ads?

I had a similar thing happen to me with my old Scirocco. Was travelling in convoy down the M3 and my mate behind phoned me and said my wheel looked a bit odd... so I pulled over on to the hard shoulder expecting it to be nothing, it looked fine to me but my mate was insistent, so I quickly jacked it up and I kid you not - the wheel fell off complete with the brake drum still firmly attached! I had no warning whatsoever prior to my mate calling me but I did experience some strange rear steer effects when I slowed down on to the hard shoulder. How lucky is that... a few more minutes and I don't think I would be walking away from it. I too had just had my wheel bearings replaced by a mechanic a couple of weeks earlier and it turns out the cause was the same - over tightening of the wheel bearings. The other side was on its way too. Suffice to say I now change all my wheel bearings myself.

Hmmmm...Perhaps the answer may be to connect the two ends of said wire together?

Same here - it only does it first thing in the morning and drips a couple of times onto the alternator but it makes me worry! It think its just the ends of the hose where its old and brittle so it no longer seals properly - tightening the clips helps but it doesn't get rid of the problem. Does anyone know if the fuel lines require bleeding of any sort after replacement?

Jonathan, thanks for the info - you are a star!

Not really, its got a few bends in it that I can see but it dissapears behind the head and then I don't know where it goes from there until I get the engine cover thingy off. Just wanted to get an idea of how much work is involved and parts required before I have it in bits.

I seem to have a small petrol leak where the petrol hose joins injector rail on a VR6 I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure there was a recall on this problem - but getting to the point, does anyone know how much the pipes cost and how easy are they to fit?

Maybe it can be explanied with the reasoning that the renault's probably making 200bhp/ton once you account for the fact that half its bodyshell will have turned to rust by the time it catches up with a VR

Yep, I'd tend to agree with kev, any car running at 70C all the time is too low. I did once have a thermostat that was jammed open and the car never ran warmer that 70C and resulted in a pretty rubbish heater too. Since fitting a new thermostat my VR now sits at 85-ish water temp in normal driving and oil temp averages about 100-ish but when thrashing it the oil temp can go as high as 116-118 which I take to be fairly normal. Water temp only gets to 110 in traffic then the fan cuts in.

Sorry my friend has got on and used my name Temperature prob

Does the temperature get high even when you are just driving aroung? (i.e. not stuck in traffic) if so then it would point to bad coolant flow, normally caused by seized thermostat or knackered water pump. Are you losing water? -
So given the standard 15" speedlines running the correct width and profile etc. which tyre would be the best to go for in terms of all round ability versus cost and road noise?

I've had the F1s on both my VR6 and my old Scirocco as well as Yokohamas and other "sport" tyres and I can't recommend them enough. They're as grippy as most average sport tyres in the dry but in wet/greasyconditions (i.e. England) they are in a league of their own. Don't wear very fast either and lowish road noise. The only downside is cost but definitely worth the extra outlay as once you have them fitted you find yourself wondering why everyone is driving so slowly in the rain! When I got my current set I phoned around a few places and the average price was about £80 a wheel including balancing and fitting, thats for the standard 15 inch Speedline wheels. It pays to play the tyre fitters against each other though as I managed to get mine fitted for just over £290 including getting the tracking checked at the same time.

Thanks for the advice Is that the same as VW's G 002 000 hydraulic fluid - Im feeling kind of foolish right now for not checking the bottle "before" I put it in the car.

I've just come back from the motor factors asking for a bottle of power steering fluid for my car and I've now noticed after topping up the level that its a general ATF fluid. Is this type of fluid ok to use on my car and will it cause any damage as I've only put in a very small amount (about 100ml)
