  1. I would have thought it would make at LEAST 225BHP with that spec. I made 244.5BHP with the following spec on the standard bottom end.....and was running 68mm pulley then......

    standard PG bottom end

    lightened / balanced crank

ported / polished head with big valves

    flowed / polished inlet manifold

    ported and polished throttlebody

    full s/s exhaust (no cat)

    Schrick 268-276 degree asymmetrical cam

    SNS stage 5 chip

    68 mm pulley

Porsche 944 Turbo 3.5 Bar FPR

    Bosch red-top injectors

    FMIC with 2.5" alloy piping

    Cheers and HTH

  2. Apparently it depends on the warranty whether the RMS (rear main seals around the crank bearing failing due to defect in centre-line boring the block) is covered. And the fact it's done 67k with FPSH should hopefully mean that all little niggles and potential major faults will have been rectified by now (RMS issue is MOST common as you will know at low miles). But I'm sure Munkay will have taken this into account before purchasing as he spends alot of time researching his cars before buying and getting pre-purchase inspection done etc.

And yes, I know it came as standard with 6-spd manual box but 80% of the ones he saw for sale had the auto tiptronic transmission.

Roddy was a litho printer until a wee while ago AFAIK, not sure what he does now TBH.

  3. From the dvla website:

    The law states that,

    * Stylised letters and/or figures such as italics are not allowed

    * Number plate fixing bolts that alter the appearance of the letters

    and/or numbers

Offences may result in any or all of the following:

    * A fine of up to £1,000

    * The registration mark may be WITHDRAWN

    * The vehicle may FAIL the MOT test

Full details of the requirements are included in The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001

  4. My mate has had a few nice cars over the past few years, since I have known him he's had a modded Corrado G60, a 285 BHP Toyota MR2 turbo and just sold his e36 M3 last week.

Then he showed up tonight in his new ride.........2001 Porsche Boxster S in Arctic Silver with lux pack, rare 6-speed manual box, Porsche Stability Management, red nappa leather, xenon's, heated leccy seats, climate control, 18" turbo alloys, upgraded Porsche audio with CD changer, surround sound and sound processor, all for £17.5k, well below book price. Stunning car, so smooth and notes large, love it, check out the pics below

  5. I think if they are relevant to the car, for example I have B19 VWC ;-) or spell your initials / name, even hiding the age of car using irish plate (some of which are really cheap e.g. £99+£80 assigment fee) then they are cool but agreed, moving digits / altering spacing / using blanks / rivets etc. is both tacky and illegal,

    Cheers

  6. Is the powerplant straight 12v VR6 or 24v V6 ? Never seen a standard VR6 / V6 engine spit flames outta the exhaust like in the vid, pops and bang maybe but not flames ? On another note, this is easily the best ever Jetta I have ever seen, the attention to detail and quality of construction and finish are on another level, awesome work dude. I look forward to seeing it finished, or will it ever be ?? ;-)

  7. Well, well a bit of good news finally. My insurance company have decided to repair my car after all.........when I faced them with about 30 pages of classified adverts for similar rado's, photographs of pre-accident condition and build-up pics, invoices for parts and a quote from dealer of cost of recaro interior when purchased new etc they just totally caved in.

However, had the same problem with the second engineer that came out to inspect car for the secong time. The guy was a complete gimp, never even took the car's mileage or took into account the wheels, interior, engine mods (all declared) etc. And said car was worth £2750......yeah right, whatever pal.....

And then he has the cheek to call up the bodyshop to authorise the repair and make up some story that I was calling him 3 times a day for about a week, making his life / job hell and calling me (in his words) "a complete f*****g a******e".

Good thing was that when I went to the bodyshop where the car is (and who does all the work on my car anyways normally, who I am pals and on good terms with) they told me what he had said, so straight away I called up my insurers and made an official complaint about his conduct, making sure I had written confirmation of the authorisation to repair vehicle first.

So now am waiting to hear from the bodyshop if the parts are in stock and then it's a case of potentially having to get them over from Germany or from VW UK HQ in Milton-Keynes and the bodyshop getting on withthe repairs so I can get car finished in time for ed38 hopefully, funds and time permitting.

Only downside, is I have to bite the bullet and pay the £450 excess before I get the car back and then potentially have to wait 3-6 mths to get it back as the guy is STILL disputing liability, how he can do this I have no idea, as he has been charged with 7 RT offences. been identified by me from PNC mugshots as having been driving vehicle and running away from scene, DNA evidence from his blood at scene and in car has been matched to him etc.

Anyways, will keep you all updated with further progress as it happens, cheers for all the support and kind words guys.

    Thanks

  8. And here's a pic of what they look like on a Corrado, obviously these ones are not mirror-polished, but I think they are one of the best wheels that suit the Corrado
