As I said in my original post, this is not for me, it's for my mate who is building a MK3 SC VR6.
Mods to Guy's engine, according to the Golf magazine article, pages 28-32, September 2004:
Overbored 3.0VR6 ABV engine
K+N induction kit
Vortech VF9SQ supercharger with 13 psi pulley
Schrick VSR inlet manifold
AMD big-bore throttlebody
Aquamist water injection
Schrick 248 deg. cams
Bosch uprated fuel pump
Porsche 944 high-flow injectors
JE oversized forged pistons
Geoff Everett custom remap
Magnex exhaust system inc. decat
Bit more than just 3.0L and water injection......
-
Bill, can you give me a call tom please about the interior ?
Cheers
-
The interior in peter's car is James old one which I owned for a while last year when it came in my new G60 until I sold it to Peter on the forum.
Simple, I like the gearshift surround and shifter but I don't like the dash. If I wanted it in my rado I would do it or have it done, but I prefer the one in the rado TBH.
And I wasn't only talking about cars that have it fully installed and working a this time, there are quite a few project cars that are getting the TT dash installed and also there are numerous cars in Holland, Germany and Belgium etc. that have them installed in MK1 / Mk2 / Mk3 and Corrado's.
Hence the original comment above.

From the pic though it looks like the whole of the handbrake mech / lever has been fitted tho and not just the sleeve as it's straight as you mentioned, would like to ask Peter to shed light but he hasn't been on here since start of December !
Don't want to fit the TT dash at all as I feel it has been overdone now and not a big fan of the retro / gimmicky-styling TBH.

That's funny, this is Peter Munns' corrado interior pictured here and he has fitted a MK4 20VT handbrake handle, gaitor and button to his corrado ??
And when I said TT shifter and surround, I meant fitting the whole thing i.e shifter and surround together....
-
Hey all,
Has anyone fitted a MK4 Golf handbrake gaitor assembly inc. button (poss. Peter Munns ??) or an Audi TT shifter and shifter-surround (Rossco, Daniel Jolley and a few others ?) to their corrado ? Would it be possible to do a fitting guide as quite fancy doing these mods to finish off my interior.
Many thanks,

Not really a case of being happy with a certain figure, more like I feel the engine has far more potential to make more power with such a big spec as he is planning, I don't think 313BHP is that much power tbh for a supercharged 3.1L VR6 with front-mount, water-injection and all the other associated bits.

They are 7 x 17", 4x100PCD with ET45 (would need to run 10-15 mm spacers to get them on)

As the title of the topic says can someone do a shop of these wheels onto a rado please ?

Oh my......would she be up for coming to edition38 Mr. H ? :luvlove:

Buddy,
Register on http://www.edition38.com/board if you haven't done so already.
Secondhand 02A gearbox's appear for sale in the auto jumble section on a regular basis for between £50-£150. Also give a few VW breakers a shout as they always have secondhand 02A 16V boxes in stock, here's a few to try:
VW Audi Breakers 0115 979 1121 ask for Tony
Central Motors 01332 371819
Stevens VW Breakers http://www.vws.me.uk/

I'm no expert on VR6 engines but I think it would be a little more than 300BHP ??
A standard capacity VR6 with chip, induction kit and exhaust with charger will give 280+BHP ?? A bare 3.1L VR6 will give 230+BHP so even with just a charger on this it is bound to be over 300BHP from just this addition alone.
I think he is lowering the compression ratio as well somehow, can't remember how he said he was doing it tho'
-
Find a secondhand 02A cable-change gerbox from a 16V or G60 (£50-£150) and have it rebuild by a gearbox specialist e.g Stealth Racing (£237+VAT approx-including seals etc may cost more dep. on if certain parts need replaced) and get a brand-new clutch mate, kit about £80-£90 ish from GSF . EuroCarparts etc. and about 1-2 hrs to fit.
Total cost about £500 and basically brand-new gearbox and clutch. Alternatively if you don't want to go for a rebuild just find a low mileage 02A gearbox with no synchomesh wear, get a set of new selector cables (£100 odd from VW only), selector mechanism overhauled (£100 ish) and new clutch fitted (£150 ish) and everything should be much improved. Total = £350 ish

Hey all,
What would be the expected power with these mods to a MK3 VR6 which a friend is currently building ? He wants some idea of what he can expect after all this work is carried out so I said I would ask.
2.9 Corrado lump bored out to 3.1L
Schrick manifold
Schrick cams
6-branch manifold
large-bore throttlebody
straight-thru exhaust
Z-Engineering supercharger kit
water injection
front-mount intercooler
custom rechip

Yeah, really liking these wheels at the moment, they are not real split-rims tho' are they just split-rim effect ?

Can't see any pics whatsoever ??

Don't go for a 4x4, might be better off-road, obviously, but crap fuel economy even if diesel as the drag from the sheer size (and weight factor) is so high. As have been mentioned already defo worth considering is a Passat B4 TDi saloon or estate. Plenty of good ones on Autotrader for between £1000-£2000.
If you can stretch to £2500-£3000 ish you can get a high-mileage B5 ! Another option would be a TDi Vectra, loads around, I know it's a Vauxhall but they will go on forever and are cheap to buy/service/run/parts etc.

No stay in a top floor flat and no coucil-owned garages near-by I can rent. Currently kept off the road declared SORN on a garage premises that owe me a few favours !
Can't be driven either as no chip in ECU and not MOT'd anyways. Going to be a pain in the ar5e to get moved when bits ready to be fitted ! Going to fit the strutbraces and the sub-box / boot floor but mate's with own modifying business going to fit the ICE and do the window tints for free ! Have a few mates that are time-served mechanics so they are going to fit the gearbox, pulleys, brakes and coilovers as homers but going to leave fitting the ECU chip and setting the car up to a specialist VAG tuber located about 100 miles away, mate going to get it recovered on back of a truck there for £50 !

Could have had some FK Highsports for £370 inc. VAT and delivery mate or KonigSports for £450 inc. VAT
I have ordered a set of KonigSports from this guy and price is £450 inc. VAT (going to collect from him as only 40 min drive away)
For anyone else that is interested:

Will probably start an entire new thread with spec and pics once it's finished, still to do:
> Fit front upper strut brace
> Fit rear strut brace
> Fit Brembo front brakes
> Fit coilovers and top mounts
> Fit set of alloy tanks
> Fit toothed pulley kit
> Fit water injection kit
> Fit new chip to ECU
> Rolling road set-up / tune
> remove old O2A gearbox and remove VR6 clutch and lightened flywheel
> Install new O2A (with LSD) gearbox with above clutch and flywheel
> Install new VWM shifter mechanism
> Fit uprated headlight loom
> Fit chromolux rear window tints
> Install new sub in enclosure / amps / 6x4's / boot floor
> Get the thing MOT'd !!
Fair bit still to do, all a question of time and spare cash mate !

Not sure but hopefully within the next 6-8 weeks !

Check out the video's of Matt's MK1 16vG60 and you will see the best way to position the BMC CDA filter. Basically horizontally where the heatshield sits in the engine bay with ducting going underneath the filter and up onto the rear-end of the filter housing with the ducting coming up from carbon-canister hole and onto the front-end of housing from underneath. I have a few still shots from the vid, crap quality but you get the idea which I will email you.

Not sure if I have seen one fitted to a Corrado beforebut I know there is a recently built MK1 16vG60 that uses one belonging to G60MATT from edition38 forum, see vids below. The only thing is that due to the sheer size of the BMC-supplied ducting / cold air feed you would have to get an adapter made which bolts to the charger and expands the charger inlet aperture from the standard size to the size of the ducting. But it is possible so could give it a go !
