Hi folks, A touch of thread necromancy but hey ho. I looked at doing this a few years ago, but went down the Honda integra restoration route. Now that's finished, and i am selling the teg soon, i keep coming back to the corrado as i loved my old 8v conversion as it pulled all day at low revs. However as i do about 45 miles a day atm, i am looking at a diesel, and my old man is up for trying the conversion. However i am finding it really hard to get concrete info on what is needed to do the conversion. I know i can put in any engine pretty much with fabrication, i am looking to use the original engine mounts, and not have to mess about with the wiring as much as possible. From what i have learned, the best bet is a MK3 diesel golf, however other than the engine, i don't know what i need froma donor, some say i need the pedal box, some say i need to swap the clocks etc, and even run 2 ecu's at once. Dos anyone have a good thread on this or any other forum about doing this with a mk3 diesel motor, i had one before when a girl on either this forum or another did this, but its been lost in the mire of the net. I know the mk3 diesel is a bit lackluster on power but i have been told i could up it to about 120bhp with a few choice mods without spending crazy money, and a 120 bhp, big ftlb figure corrado, giving 45mpg+ appeals to me. all help directed to me would be very much appreciated. Cheers folks.

My old storm... miss it dearly.

Roughly around then, you should have it somewhere in that massive collection of receipts I kept for it. Look forward to seeing it with wheels and exhaust.

My old car :D I'd be surprised if it needed an engine rebuild, the car was in very good condition when I sold it to the guy you bought it from. Judging by the mileage it looks as though it's been sat around for a while. I would have thought it needs the chains doing and some thicker oil for an engine of that age. There must be a VR specialist somewhere you can take it to. When I had it I always thought it used to run quite hot but never had any problems with it. Oh and get some photos up would love to see her again.

I'll get on it first thing in the morning, beats pretending to write essays! :) thanks

Yer the plugs and leads were done about 2 years ago I think, and the fuel filter I don't know, was reading a post earlier about it but wasn't sure. Is it an easy job? any ideas what could be causing it? cheers again

Hello everyone, New to this so please bear with me, I've got a 1990 16v KR with a strange problem and cant work out what is wrong with it. For about 6 months now its had this problem where the engine stutters when reaching high revs, beyond around 5500rpm. When it started it seemed to stutter and rev erratically when it got to 5500rpm, as if it would loose power then get it back again then loose it again, causing it to like kangaroo in 1st and 2nd, but now it seems to have developed into a combination of that and not reving any higher at all, as if hitting the rev limiter. Its odd though because if you let off the pedal to around half throttle it will rev right round to 7000rpm, it does it when driving as well as when just reving the engine. Sorry its not the best explanation but can think of another way to describe it. I've had a good look around the search and haven't been able to find anything similar. Has anyone got any ideas or any suggestions? would be a real big help Thanks Rick

Dead easy to do, I got got my motors from ebay, switch from vagparts and made the loom myself. Have a look on VW Vortex there's a write up on how to do it I think.

Sold this today, went to a really nice guy that sounds like he's really going to look after it. Never thought I'd see this day :(

Goodwood green Indeed, quite a rare colour for them and also the most unpopular, I really like it though gives it that sleeper look I think.

Get the Audi, I love mine

I have a 92 VW Eurovan, with the 2.5 litre Audi engine. My clutch plate, pressure plate throw out bearing and slave cylinder were replaced about 10K miles ago. My clutch is now only partially engaging (peddle pressure felt soft immediately prior to the problem) and I couldn't shift from neutral into gear. I was able to get going by starting the vehicle in gear (clutch was partially engaged with clutch pedal to the floor). I drove the vehicle and the clutch isn't slipping. I've come to the conclusion that the master clutch cylinder needs replacing. However, a clutch line that runs from the master cylinder to the brake fluid reservoir doesn't appear to have (treaded) fittings. Any advice about replacing the master cylinder and bleeding the system would be welcome... Regards...Patrick...
