  1. Cheers for the info guys. Never thought about it only being any good for m or n reg cars. been offered £400 from some reg transfer place so looks like that is probably the way forward.
  2. Cheers, kind of trying to gauge interest first, not sure what it is worth, apart from it being worth what someone will pay for it, is there anywhere I can do that on here, or do you have to state a price?
  3. Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but thinking about selling my registration, seperately to my car, and thought I would put it out to the forum first, in case anybody was interested... The reg is M6VWC, which I have always loved on my VR6, for obvious reasons. Anyway, if anybody is interested please PM me with offers, or if this is in the wrong place, please let me know, do not want to upset anybody. Cheers... Tony.
  4. Took my car into the valeters the other day and my drivers side windscreen wiper arm ended up snapping off. Anybody got one as want to keep it as original as possible? Cheers, Tony. Ps. Think they are all the same but it is for a right hand drive '95 VR6 if not.
  5. Hi! Is the Corrado one the drivers side and if so would you split? Valeters snapped mine the other day but want to keep it as original as possible.
  6. Is the guide that you are talking about the one that has sheared in that pic and if so do you know if you get them with the cables?
  7. Going to have to sell it for something more practical soon so want to keep it original if possible.
  8. Even when your technical ability stops just after knowing that you hold the plastic bit of the screwdriver in your hand?
  9. Hi, My sunroof seems to have broken in the same way as picture number three and I was wondering if anybody could recommend anyone who repairs them in the North. I live in Sheffield but I need to get it sorted for obvious reasons. http://bellsouthpwp.net/s/t/stflush/sunroof.pdf Cheers, Tony.
  10. don't touch it. it's awesome just the way it is.
  11. Mad one! Same thing happened to mine last Tuesday. Took it to show my mate this evening and it worked ok. He tried his and it had the same symptoms. Weird? Any revelations would be greatly appreciated if shared...

Unfortunately not! Wasn't there when I took the photos but there's a stone chip on the front wing that's gone rusty and some of the paint's flaked off. It's solid but when I took it to a bodyshop top get it checked out they recommended replacing the whole wing. Don't really want to do that because the rest of the car's original (apart from the koni top adjustables/eibach springs) so going to have to get a second/third/whatever opinion. Anyone know any good painters in the North?

was thinkin of gettin rid til i drove over the cat n fiddle yesterday. what was i thinkin? postin some pics to celebrate.
  14. the problem with mine was that vw fitted smaller diameter spring seats on the top of the front struts for this model year ('95 vr6) but whoever had fitted the koni/eibach kit had fitted the springs for the earlier models so the spring managed to wind itself round the seat and knock against whatever you call the bit of the bodywork in the engine bay where the struts are mounted to. thanks to swifts (sheffield) for identifying the problem in the first place and stealth (you know where they are) for telling me what they needed to do to put it right which was replace the existing top seats with ones for the earlier models. haven't had any problems since so if you've got a '95 vr6 it's definitely worth checking out but if you haven't then it's probably going to be something else. good luck!
  15. read about the h&r springs on here but just wanted to get it back on the road for now. feels loads better than it did. i don't cringe every time i'm turning the steering wheel any more which is rather nice and the ride in general feels less crashy. definitely considering the h&rs though. happy with the eibach's for now but if they're supposed to be better then...
  16. thought i'd start a new topic for this one even though it's related to the one i placed last week. riving to work on the m62 the other day the clunking from the passenger side at parking speeds was joined by a distinctive (and quite scary!) knocking from under the drivers side. VAG quoted my £123 per side just for the labour to change the top mounts but i managed to get it in a german car specialists called swifts in sheffield. turns out whoever'd fitted my koni/eibach set up had fitted the wrong springs at the front. vw changed the top caps from a large to a small one in december '04 but most spring manufacturers don't make springs for the later cars. apparently eibach do but whoever'd fiited them had fitted the earlier ones instead. great! over time the front springs have managed to work their way round the top cap so that they were knocking against the bodywork of the car. nice! don't know exaclty how dangeros this is but it didn't sound to healthy. thanks to sat at stealth (for the advice) swifts are awiting the arrival of a new set of the old style top caps to fit to the tops of my konis. hopefully everything should be done and dusted by mondat afternoon. yippee! can't wait to get it back as i'm presuming it's going to handle even better than i thought it did already. sorry for the length of the topic but just thought i'd throw it up here unless anyone else was experiencing a similar problem on a post december '04 vr6. will let you know if it sorts it out next week. until then...
  17. the civic's sweet! i was going to buy a new one last year. had a demonstrator for a whole afternoon around sheffield and loved it to bits but when it came down with parting with my cash... i ended up going with my heart and buying something and wanted since way back when they were out of my price range. you guessed it... a vr6. not a storm edition. just a plain old moonlight blue with 44k on the clock and full VAG history from the supplying dealer. i've had it for just over a year and it's now on 63k and the only problem's i've experienced are a noisy heater (VAG diagnosed this as a faulty heater motor and wanted £150 to put it right but i'm told it's the same unit as in a mkII golf and it's supposed to be a really easy DIY job) and a clunking noise from the front end on full lock parking and when cornering over potholes etc.. that's been developing (which i'm thinking is probably top mounts or cv joint after posting a PLEASE HELP! on here). the MPG's not as bad as you'd think. i do runcorn/chorley to sheffield a couple of times a week and even i'm giving it some over snake it normally averages out to around 26/27mpg by the end of the trip. not bad compared to the grin factor of hanging on to the back end of £30,000+ worth of boxster through the twisty stuff. go for it! you won't regret it. EVER!
  18. cheers for the advice everyone. sounds like it's more than likely going to be either the top mounts or the outer cv joint. anyone know anyone in either cheshire, lancashire, or south yorkshire (i get about a bit don't i?)that works on corrados? especially modified ones (i.e. the koni kit) as my local VAG dealer wouldn't touch the suspension because it wasn't origional. i've just been awesome gti stores website. didn't know they did konis. anybody had any work done by these guys?
  19. think it's coming from the passenger side front. just been checking out a few of the earlier posts and i think it might be down to worn top mounts. whatever they are? not the most technical of owners as you've probably guessed.
  20. i've got a 63k vr6 with what i believe to be a koni sport suspension kit fitted. it's been making a mechanical clunking sound when turning on lock (think it's worse on left lock but i'm not sure now i've had to think about it). vw had a look at it for me when it's been in for service but they couldn't find any problems. any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it's getting worse and it's starting to do my head in? :( cheers! t.
  21. i've got koni top adjustables on mine. think it's something called the sport kit but not too sure as they came with the car. the ride's really civilised except over the harshest of pot holes and it's not too low. just enough to make the standard wheels fill the arches properly. hope this helps.
