£1000 but happy to take offers. In Chelmsford, Essex. Includes Factory repair manual! Done a tonne of work to this but moving house soon, so am not in the position to do the work needed. Currently making a trolley for transport. Paint will need a good flat and polish. Bonnet needs respray. Rear bumper has been re-sprayed, front not as yet. I don't want to scrap her but if it's not sold in a couple months, I don't have much choice. Photos are in a fairly random order!!! Also, underside of shell has been wire wheeled, de-rusted, ku-rusted, etch primed and brush sealed. Engine has been partly dis-assembled, but nothing serious, and I have pretty much every part that came off the car. Will be selling in parts soon if not sold as one. Wanted unfinished project/rolling shell
Micky Blue replied to Davec27's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Hey. Mine's not a rolling chassis, but currently making a trolley for it. Have a look at my previous posts and see what you think. -
The attempted resto that I've given up on... Had a spare few hours so re-sprayed the rear bumper. If I ever get some more spare time, will have to get the front bumper and the bonnet done too. You never know. There's a couple imperfections that were in the original paint that showed themselves when I sprayed the Clear Coat. Looks ok though. The days when I wanted to make this car mint, are long gone haha. Will probably still flat and polish the whole car, but nothing more than that. How rare are these wheels and what are they called??
Micky Blue replied to Micky Blue's topic in Exterior
Sweet. I don't think I will be returning them to the original look. I may be selling them but I can't see it adding much value, and if I keep them, I like them as they are. I know the hassle of diamond cut wheels. I refurb them on a regular basis but we don't have a diamond cutting/ milling machine, so we bare metal the face and then re-create the effect as best we can, then use a special clear coat. They are a massive pain though. I'd say 20% of all (fairly new) cars we have in (that have diamond cuts) there is some level of corrosion. -
Some more photos from my attempted resto

Thanks very much. Just wish I had the facilities to finish it. My boss shows no signs of letting me take it to work haha. Too many high end motors to paint, they don't want my hunk of junk in there taking up space. -

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to having my own garage. Working on this was obviously just practice, but now I'm doing this stuff every day, I know I enjoy it. -
I wish I had the time to organise these photos properly and show everyone the full story. I have put a lot of hours in and have so little time nowadays. If no one buys her off me in the next couple years, I'll hopefully have a garage of my own to finish her. Sorry for the late reply. Crazy busy at work these days. I painted 1 bumper a while after doing the shell, but the base coat reacted, so it needs re-spraying. The other one I haven't touched yet, BUT I am planning on spraying them very soon at work. Just finding the time. I can only do my own stuff on a Saturday, and more often than not, we have prepped and masked up a car in the booth ready for Monday, so can't spray. I'm going to upload some more photos now. Not sure if I can add them to this thread, but if not, they will be on my profile.

Hey panderoo. Every part that came off the car I still have, sitting in my shed. Some bits hidden in my bedroom.... The only thing I have thrown out was the 2 front springs. After an inspection they were in pretty bad shape, so dumped them, with every intention of getting new ones soon after. But I never got around to it. Most of the parts obviously have general ware and tear, surface rust etc, as you would expect from 25 year old parts. Some bits still attached to other bits, as the bolts were rusted on. Again, that was a job for another day. Tomorrow night I plan on adding many more photos, so you will get a better idea of where I'm at. The shell isn't currently mounted on anything, besides axle stands. I did make a trolley for it, to get it to the spray booth. It worked well but I've had to scrap it. Can make a new one, but depends on how much interest I get/ if it sells.

Wiring fun. 2 weeks progress in 2 pictures
Micky Blue replied to Micky Blue's topic in Members Gallery
Originally I was just stripping some of the interior as the sun roof was leaking. Plan was fix the leak, dry out, check for rust, make sure it wasn't going to rot, then put the interior back. Then I went to college to do bodywork + spraying and (as it was SORN) I may as well strip it a bit more and respray the whole thing. Ended up getting a bit carried away and just stripped the whole car to bare bones. Now I'm a bit screwed lol I'm probably just going to sell her if I can. I'm moving soon and can't take her with me. -

Micky Blue replied to Micky Blue's topic in Exterior
Yeah they do look pretty sweet. When I picked my car up, the wheels were a real nasty grey colour. I'm guessing they were resprayed at some point before. May be selling my set, but not sure if I should respray them back to how they should be or just leave them as is. -

Good find! Not the same I'm afraid. Mines the common 2.0 16v model. Pretty standard. -

Well that didn't take long. Google seems to agree with you. Cheers! -
From this To this Anyone know where it all goes?? ;)

1993 2.0 16v Besides mine, I've only seen these on one other Corrado. (I don't really go to shows) To me they seem to be quite rare, but never actually looked up what they were called. I'm sure I will get a load of people thinking "SIGH, how does this guy not know!!" But hey. Be gentle. Maybe an optional extra at the time? I was told they were the original wheels that came on the car. Only have a VW stamp on the inside and some serial numbers. Oh and yes, I resprayed them that colour. They were some really horrid grey, so I picked something a bit brighter. I'm not so sure.... Should have just gone moondust

While training to become a painter/ body repair tech, I decided to get some practice and restore my baby that was SORN and sitting on the drive. Now though, life has taken over and my skills, time and energy are limited, so I'm needing to sell her. If anyone wants a big project or just needs a tonne of parts, I'm looking for £1,000. It may not be worth that to 99% of people, but it's still a lot of car, even if she is in a million pieces. If there's no interest for the job lot, I will end up selling what parts I can and send the rest to the breakers. I would much prefer this to go to a good home! Oh I'm in Essex by the way. It won't let me upload most of the pictures! Probably something I've done wrong. Will hopefully sort it soon and upload. I have done To the shell; Welding, rust removal, filler, primer, flatted primer, sprayed COB moonlight blue. 3 coats blue, 2 1/2 coats diamond clear. (I only had 3 days for the whole process, so after being awake for 70 hours straight the finish wasn't great and needs a decent amount of flatting and polishing.) The engine bay looks pretty decent. I then removed as much rust and loose underseal from the underside of the shell + wheel arches (using a scraper and a wire wheel) and then brushed etch primer and fresh underseal. The same to the floor pan inside. I would have preffered to spray seal it, but I don't have an air compressor at home and I planned on driving this car, so was happy just with brushing. The sunroof was removed, sprayed, and fitted with a new seal. The bonnet was cleaned of all old heat protection, fully primed, flatted, sprayed then all new heat protection replaced. Problem is, as I sprayed it in a rush, I didn't notice at the time, the base coat has layed quite stripey, so the top needs respraying. All the wiring has been removed from the car. 80% of the wiring has had all the horrid black tape removed and has been cleaned with thinners + cable tied, so they are all tidy. Again, I have pictures, I just need to work out how to upload them. The wheels are rare. They were an optional extra for the Corrado in 1993. I have refurbed and resprayed them, however the colour is different to the original, as the original was grey and looked nasty. They are now a light pearly grey, though I haven't looked at them in a while. The headlining and interior lighting cover has been re-trimmed. I also have a few meters of the lining leftover. Thanks for reading. Any advice welcome. Apart from "you're an idiot" I already know that. I can't wait to get my next Corrado. And keep it in one peice!!

I get that. I made the decision to go back to college and start the body repair when I was in my late 20's, no mortgage and no kids. Now I'm about to get the mortgage and kids and I'm happy I made the change when I did. It is very hard work though. every weekend my hands and back hurt bad haha. I just wish my new place would let me store the Corrado there for a few months. I'd be there every chance I get.

I drove my Corrado for a couple years, then got something a bit more sensible, so had her off the road. I was changing careers and was at college doing bodywork and paint. I thought I could use the Corrado for practice and also, to respray it for when I get it back on the road. So one thing led to another and before I knew it, I had a bag full of bolts, a shed full of parts, and a bare shell. I stripped the whole car in my front garden in a matter of a few weeks, because I am so clever..... Where am I at now then? So I actually managed to do any bodywork and paint the whole shell, as well as a few other bits. I removed any loose underseal and rust from the floor pan (barely any rust to be fair), etch primed and re-sealed it inside and out. High build primed the bonnet, rubbed down and sprayed, but the base coat is stripy in certain lights, so needs re-spraying. Started doing a bit of re-assembly. This is when I started my new job in the industry. I thought, oh, I can't wait to spray all the parts and get them back on the car. I shot blasted the petrol tank straps and sprayed them black. Cleaned the tank and bolted it back on. That was it. Winter hit. Overtime. Going out every weekend. I had about 1 hour of sunlight per week that I could actually get outside and work on the car. At work, they close the doors and set the alarm at 6pm. I was managing about 4 hours of work on the car per month. At home I took out the wiring looms. I removed ALL the old black, sticky tape. Got some thinners and sat in my room cleaning every wire, cable tying as I went. Took me a few weeks. Good job I'm used to working with thinners. Then I went to the shed and found another bunch of grubby, sticky looms. That was breaking point. :bonk: In my life I have done assembly work in engineering, hydraulics, electrics, lighting. I've always done manual labour and heavy jobs, working with my hands and most tools, but this project doing it mostly at home, I just don't think I have the energy or skills to finish it. I'm supposed to be buying a house in may! haha Anyway, I thought it would be therapeutic to post the progress, so here's the pictures. :thumbleft: It won't let me upload half the pictures, but I'm sleepy, so I'm going to bed.
