  1. Here is the diagram only shows one o ring seal. https://www.ilcats.ru/vw/?function=getParts&market=RDW&model=COR&modelcode=76&year=1994&group=9&subgroup=905&part=200010&pid=3181&language=en
  2. Was just watching a documentary about the sterns rave club and the owner called Mensa This popped up on the documentary he passed away on high speed crash in the early 90s . can see a speedline alloy .
  3. This is how mad some of the prices are getting - I mean lowish mileage but not what you call rolled out the factory. Has had some engine mods though. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301283683509?model=Golf&price-to=40000&postcode=b736hg&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&year-to=2004&make=Volkswagen&aggregatedTrim=R32&include-delivery-option=on&radius=1500&page=1
  4. Good value that for sure.
  5. From what I can see in Japan they came in 3dr but are lhd and all the rhd seem to be in 5 dr .
  6. I dont to be honest but I still have a classic Mk2 for the classic itch- more over for me I had three hatches fwd so was a very bad balance for a three car collection- variety is the spice of life and all that- also I don't ever want to put loads of money into restoring a car again and loose loads of money selling ,and also a niche car that is hard to sell if I do decide I want a change. Ive just looked at the value of my audi a5 and i think It will be enough to get a sub 40k Mk4 r32 from Japan- Im happy to daily that as should be reliable and the Mk4 is a modern enough platform for creature comforts- I owned a Mk4 GTI 1.8 T few years old V591 HDU - It was a great car - owned for about three years its was indigo blue - I traded it in for a saab 93 turbo MX04 LXE - I never will forget the the trader when I turned up with the golf- he said ahhh we call that shit blue in the trade I didn't realise it was shit blue lol. I would be sick if the tfsi engine popped in my audi- a guy on the porsche group daileys one and his just went at 61k and yes 6k bill en route- bore scored . I would seriously begrudge that as have no bond woih the car its just gets me to work. For me im just not a big fan of the tfsi - Ive owned a golf 7 gti and sold that after a year and now want to sell the audi after 6 months- after my saab sold around 2008 all my coupes were v6 and I bloody hate a 4 cylinder in a heavy car- feels lost and numb . Love my 16v 4 cylinder but a tfsi turbo is just a numb fart machine. Im not sure yet if they did a 3dr in Japan- im trying to find out- Moonlight blue would be my first choice for sure.
  7. Sure Ive seen a firm that change them for £250 - I just know an r32 in the Uk 100 k plus will mostly have rot - I think the jap ones are mostly very clean, A low clean mk4 r32 is just too much now in the uk to justify.
  8. This looks nice but Im still stuck in the 80s - could I live with a mordor !!!! The stereo upgrade looks a huge bonus and the interior looks very good . Going to send a PM. Were they all 4 door in the Japan market hmm - all seem to be ?? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301313803410?include-delivery-option=on&price-to=16000&sort=relevance&make=Volkswagen&model=Golf&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&year-to=2006&radius=1500&aggregatedTrim=R32&maximum-mileage=80000&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=b736hg&page=1
  9. This looks clean but very bad reviews on dealer so will not pursue. . My man maths says this car will not drop a penny in four years even with mileage increase but my audi will drop at 7 k in the same time The one will make you grin whilst driving as well. The more I read up on the tfsi I see they a grenading - Midlands VW even have ready built up ones ready to exchange ! I think that is 6 k or so ouch - my man maths are ticking over now ! I think they look great in the rare dark blue moonlight- I actually think the more common silver really suits a Mk4 as well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225307912449?hash=item347565e901:g:zzMAAOSwVwBjoHJv&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoJ6nB5Vn9y2LIa7L%2BuSPVuWgi6fyREotqJcOdWsA86x87UrO6zRkYJOxdDll7JTYzVvQKjsE8dUNkhd4o3IUESRIOi1hFJ4X4XPQrUYrJKUed7K%2FLauKLFmqVXI5fJ3Mn7KnKXJ7afqj8Ox5o6mwKFo%2BEebOeAAO1lUrZT7%2B2rJQsPPCBL%2FdSMER57RaM2Q681ogdBo5l9Dlq6M77%2FQaQO8%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_iz3s3FYQ
  10. Certainly makes sense to get a Jap one if its records are genuine - we all know there can be some naughtiness in the import trade.
  11. Your welcome to test drive my two cars before you make a decision on your weekend car .
  12. Apparanenly the r32 can be even worse as they have some funny insulation on the wings ? It might be the r32 body kit is also a moisture trap which makes things all that worse. .
  13. Sometimes you have to consolidate your capital to start again - there are some good bargains in the 911 world right now - its not going to stay like that . A 996 4s with a aero kit is a fine looking car as well- I have black one but my first choice would be midnight blue or guards red. I think there is one space for a classic vw though always for me . The most sensible thing to do is buy a real well sorted classics as you can enjoy it straight away and come out of financially stable - come out of it easily if you fancy a change. What auction house is the corrado going on ? I think your doing the right thing - Ive seen some real well sorted Mk2 golf 16v lately for about the 11k with very good mileage figure- no chance you could of matched them figures with your mk2. There was one the other day the lad was thinking of selling- an r32 conversion on a black 16v that had been garaged all its life - he was the second owner. It looked immaculate. That could combine your mk2 and corrado itch.
  14. Thanks I will have a look at that - I know they have a variable manifold and larger throttle body as standard which is great . I’ve seen a few on Vince ramps and have seen the rust spots - they seem to go bad on the rear sill .
  15. No way you sold the Mk2 ? Yes I get you I mean Vw are pretty poor on part supply - I also think a 330 e46 is great value . I. Think it would be cheaper for you to buy a restored Mk2 so probably a good move .
  16. One drove past me the other day and it sounded so gooood ! One of these jap import ones could be a great buy as they just don’t seem to have rot - I think the tfsi does everything great but the 3.0 v6 seemed a much more complete package - the one thing about a tfsi that is not great is piston rings and bore score issues on longitudes blocks - mine is the gen 3 so meant to have been mostly sorted but still can happen .
  17. Im starting to get bored of my Audi A5- its running tuned 300 bhp/ 352 lb/ft from memory but I have the farty 2.0 tfsi turbo. its nowhere near as good engine as the torquey 3.0 audi diesel lump Im use to . I m thinking if I can swap it for something a bit more interesting like a Mk4 r32 or a V8 merc an M113 block. I only do a round trip to work of about 6 miles so mpg dont bother me. I do want heated seats though ! Even a jag Xk im very tempted.
  18. Oh god how much is this going to fetch - the ford miracle lol ! At 132 bhp 1.6 turbo makes you realise what a great engine the 16v 139 bhp natural de[;acement was at the time. https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1987-ford-escort-rs-turbo-1
  19. Rare pre merger = and those seats https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1991-mercedes-benz-w124-300te-1
  20. Glad to hear that of I ever get one I know where to come ha !
  21. Some of the parts look so expensive- one quote I will never forget as I have been sniffing round the audi pages for a while as a luker was " Audi Tradition simply dont want us to own them " .
  22. Yes they are ceratainly a well proportioned car- I think what tainted the model was that the s2 was mega expensive- the later V6 2.6 and 2.8 were very low powered with poor mpg - the very early kv and more powerful 7a would certainly be my pick . Look at this absolue beauty - its not a wide body but been through ABT hands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAJ3oNYbPQ8
  23. Its actually this car I spotted- I ran into 2 years back at a leisure centre and had my eye on it a couple years - very rare car now the 7A quattro. Bottom picture is a dream car for me the extremely rare ABT widebody. - only a couple on the UK- one been a saturn white one.
  24. This car Ive seen a couple of times- it realyy is a hell of a cool car- looked at t Was yours the 5 cylinder 7A - think they were about 178 bhp - they did another 2.2 which was about 148 bhp I think.
