Cheers, I bought it as a 1.8 16v in very bad condition. Resprayed it. Lowered it 40mm, replaced the exhaust with the oval Supersprint system. Sourced the old BBS alloys as there was ugly drug-dealer Alessio alloys on it. After rebuilding the 1.8 16v, I got the itch for a G60. Bought a rebuilt G60,along with a Shrick cam, Chip and Pulley from Jeroen of JD motorsports. Its putting out about 210bhp. I then had to put in the leather interior from my mates G60, he put in electric Recaro's. Thinking of putting on BBS RC's 17" next.

Lets see if this works.

Funny Dan, I rang Quinn Direct last year and they told me they didn't qoute on 'sports cars'. I had given them all my details and when I told them what sort of car it was(1.8 16v then now G60) she almost dropped the phone. I live in Dublin so it might be that they have different policies. I'm 28 by the way.

I work in aluminium tubing, I'll 'pilot' if you shovel it!

Got a complete SuperSprint system on my G60 and it looks and sounds great. Its the oval pipe one. The reason I chose it was that it was the closest to the original as possible. No regrets, expensive though!

endor71, Don't know if this will help, but I had a problem with my battery running flat all the time. Tried everything from reconditioning the alternator checking boot light etc. In the end I found it to be the Central locking. I had an alarm put in by a 'friend of a friend' and what ever he did f!£$%d up the electrics. Hope this helps.

Dan, I just put a modified G60 in mine, it was a regular 1.8 16v. She got in the car the other night for the first time and asked "Whats that noise, it sounds different to the last time I was in it!"........ Oh shit! "Oh, thats just the new air box honey!". I think she pretends not to know now. They will never understand.

G60 Jet I'll be over in Rio Real in June, have a place in there. I'll be over for a few weeks, bit of golf etc if your around.

Thanks Banana Man, Temp sensor on dash is broke, bought engine sesnor and it still didn't work. I think now its the needle on the dash. The oil temp reading on the MFA is non-existent. Looks like dash has to come out now, doh!. New Shrick Cam, Chip and pulley going in on saturday so I'll have a better idea then. At the moment its running fine. It is broke so I'll have to fix it! :(

G60jet, It was a right hand corner. Checked the oil level this morning and it was fine. BTW do you live near Rio Real?

Happened to me tonite, floored it coming out of a corner, got in to 3rd at about 55 and the light came on and the beeping started. Pulled in and wasn't going to check the oil as it would be hot. Turned off the engine and after about 25 secs turned it on again, it was fine. The temp sensor on dash and the oil temp sensor on the MFA isn't working, maybe its related. Its not overheating, so it could be the oil switches.

Kevin, If you get everything with the engine, it will fit 'like a glove'. I didn't realise how much fun a G60 is. There is a couple of differences, in a 16v(1.8 or 2.0) the rev counter red lines at 7,000 wherea's on a G60 it red lnes at 6,000 shall I go on....... If you get a chance do it. P.S. Hi all, I have just put a G60 into my Corrado, it was a 1.8 16v, I could'nt believe the difference when I drove it for the first time the other night. On paper the specifications don't look all that different, that was why I opted for the 1.8 16v initially(Insurance purposes also!). Its been the massive change in torque that has been quite noticeable and of course the nice roar off the new lump. I have ordered a Shrick Cam, Chip and Pulley from JD in Holland, and am fitting them at the weekend along with the air panel filter. What I wanted to know was what power gain will I get and where am I to notice it most? Cheers. :)
