looking to invest in some coilovers for a vr6 and would like peoples opinions on which to purchase up to the tune of £500 any suggestions/experiences many thanks

well i was thinking of one of the two for sale on here and they seem to have alot of money thrown their way

hi i used to own a stanrdard vr6 around 2 years ago and i want another i was going to spend around £6000 on a vr6 with as low miles as possible and keep it standard and mint, but then i see two charged up vr's for sale and got me thinking a little more about putting in more cash and putting a bigger smile on my face. My problem is this i need it as a daily driver doing 20 miles a day and the odd longer journey, i am good at electrics but not too hot on mechanics so i need it to be reliable. Question: How reliable is a charged vr6?

the evidence seems to be coming from the expansion bottle the holes on the side of it anyway as there is a coolant trail from there and drips on the surronding area directly underneath it

hi there my vr6 seems to be losing coolant from the valve on the expansion bottle the temperature reads fine during the journey but after the engine is turned off a sissing can be heard from the expansion bottle. i have recently changed the bottle as the previous one was old and dirty is it possible that when the garage changed it they put an airlock in the system or has any one got any other ideas many thanks for any help

ok thanks is it necessary to drain coolant or is it just residual in there??

the hardest bit i am told is getting the bolts out as they are too long for the space provided it maybe necessary to undo two engine mounts (front and rear left) but im not too sure this is what the garage said to me as i have to get mine done at some point

i have a squeeling noise that is definately coming from the alternator bearings it hasnt seized yet though and seems to be working fine does it sound like a jet engine with the bonnet up doing 2000 revs i thought mine was going to adopt wings and fly to mexico

ok i think i have found it to be leaking from the pipe that goes to the top of the radiator where it is bolted in with two bolts there is resisdue around there and when i squeeze the pipe bubbles appear there what is the repair for this?? any info would be greatly received as i need to drive her tonight

temperature seems normal enough to me where is the position of the aux water pump though??

the tank still hisses when opened after around 3 hours is it still possible to store some pressure even when this ring is damaged??

i have a 95m vr6 which appears to be losing a bit of coolant after about 1000 miles the tank would go from nearly full to nearly empty having looked through the receipts it has had two radiators in 5 years the last one being a year ago where it had all new pipework thermostat housing and thermostat when driving temp reads around 90-95 when stationary in traffic goes up to 98-100 having looked around the engine today all i could notice is that there was antifreeze on the rim of the expansion tank which appeared to be coming from the overflow any help/info/advice

is there any way of checking these chains without having to take the clutch out some kind of inspection hole? or is the only method to either replace them or let it skip and replace the lot

my alternator is whining worse than my missus can anyone tell me the cheapest (its christmas you know) place to get a new one for a 95 vr6

on my way to work this morning it was raining heavily about half a mile into the journey my vr6 began to be very sluggish and then would pick up normally seemed to be lurching this went on for about half a mile then ran perfect for the rest of the trip i did have a crack in the coil pack but sealed it with silca set could this be at fault or something else fuel filter etc??

i am new to my vr6 and want to know what sensor this is, if look at the engine from the top left of the rocker cover is a rubber pipe looks like a oil breather perhaps from this pipe there is a two wire connector what is it as one of the wires has pulled out

i have a 95 vr6 with a scorpion cat back system when i put i foot down a get a rattle from the exhaust for a bit then it stops as i ease off then rattles a bit more it doesnt do it when idling or holding revs could it be a heat shield, baffles in the rear box or (i hope not) the cat breaking up any ideas also any ideas as to how much a cat is for a vr6 and where i can get one (please dont say VW dealership)
